If start time is 7:05, but there is the cerimonial "first pitch"(sometimes 2, 3, or 4) introducing the team players by name and position and all other announcements, when does the game really begin?

If listed as 7:05, the game should start at that time. However, it rarely does. Usually it starts at 7:08 or so. The official start time is when the pitcher releases the first true pitch to a batter. Of course if the game is on fox that could be around 7:40. :-P

If a game is scheduled for 7:05 that is supposed to be the first pitch. I have never been to a major league game that started right on time though.

When the pitcher actually lets go of the ball and throws it to the catcher. It's never the "official" game time. Sometimeds the little girl singing the national anthem adds all these notes to the "land of the free and the home of the brave" part. That sort of ticks me off.
