I realize this has probably been answered 54 times on here, but I can't find it. After watching the race at Martinsville, I couldn't figure out why Gordon was so pissed at Johnson for not giving him room. Why should Johnson have given 24 room? I understand they're teammates, but so what. Just because a guy is my teammate I'm supposed to give him the chance to beat me on the last lap? It reminds me of when Lance Armstrong started out and people were getting mad at him for not letting his teammates win, why should he have? Should Johnson have raced his tail off and then let up on the final lap? I understand helping your teammate out, but since when does helping your teammate out mean you should give them a chance to beat you...

In my area it is greenville-pickens.It has been around almost since the start of nascar.David Pearson,Ralph Earnhardt,Butch Lindley, andRobert Pressly are just a few of the past champions. In the mid to late 70's Buddy Howard and Johnny Allen(a nascar race winner) put on some of the best shows you would ever want to see.I fell in love with stock car racing then .They race on saturday nights, and the track is sometimes used as a test track for Martinsville.Give it a try if you are ever in the area.

does anyone else find it humorus that fans of the other racing series like to come in here and bash nascar because there is not enough people in america that even pays enough attention to there sport to even talk about it ,they actually think they insult race fans by doing this but i think its funny because it shows they actually pay attention to nascar even though most nascar fans could care less about there kind of racing .

Where to get a tape or CD of a Nascar race. The Sunday after the Datona 500 where Dale Earnhardt crashed and was killed. I love the tribute that they had on the following Sunday but I searched the net and cant find it. I can find the story but not the race video.

Now I'm not bashing here, but I'm asking for a good answer to that question. I don't see a strategy behind it. There was a time when the racing was about the car. You see the race over the weekend, come monday you goto the dealer and buy the exact same car. Now theres new specs which will make every car the exact same down to each bolt (16 races in '07 and 26 in '08). Now thats excluding the decals and engines (and also the drivers). Now it isn't even about racing cars, its an endurace test. Who can hold it and sit in a 100+ degree car longest. The cars they race are no where near stock. My Taurus never came with a V8 and I'm dang sure it was never rear wheel drive. NASCAR fell apart IMHO because of the advertising dollars it gets (Do I have free speech? No I need $40K to put what i want to say in a 2x9in square on one of those body panels). One team with 16 cars, give me a break. Now don't disclaim me as a hater, I took my time to explain my view, I would hope you could do the same

If a car has an accident on the first lap of a NEXTEL race and it takes the team 10 laps to get the car back on the track, and it is the only car not on the lead lap, is that car considered the "lucky dog" if a caution flag happens? Could that car go on and win the race even though it raced 10 laps less than all of the other cars on the lead lap?

I figured that would get your attention. Here is a two part question. 1) Why do fans act like the Earnhardts are racing gods? They are only race car drivers. And Junior isn't that good. 2) Why do fans act like it's ok for an Earnhardt to put someone in the wall to win a race, but not anyone else? Senior was referred to as one of the dirtiest drivers in NASCAR. Here is your chance to defend them.

And before anyone asks, Darrell Walltrip said that about Senior at the last race. Referring to how Gordon didn't wreck Johnson to win.

I think in the last race there were 18 Chevys, 11 Dodges, 9 Fords, and 5 Toyotas. I think that the car manufacturers should all have the same amount. I was just wondering how come there are so many more Chevys.
