It depends on the contract the driver has with his owner. Most common are 30% and 40%. Some even get 50%. Drivers get a base salary and then a percentage of the winnings. And, as I said, it depends on their individual contract (which are not public knowledge).

They get a percentage of it. 20% on up. Depending on the driver and the team negotiations. Some drivers may even have to give some of their share back to help pay the crews their share. Strange I know, but it must have something to do with business finances or something.
You gotta figure Hendrick and Gordon are about 50/50 but if Gordon went to a small team, he could probably take in a higher percentage just because he's gonna end up making that team more in the long run with fan support and sponsorship. Same thing applies with Jr. How fast do you think Bud would follow him if he left and went to another small team? That's millions that that team didn't have before so sure they can afford to let him have 60-70% of the winning in the race.

Most drivers contracts with the teams are for 50% of the winnings.Since most drivers are independent contractors then the contracts could range from 40% to 60%.
That's all I have to say about that.

Each race carries a purse figure, or its "posted awards."
The purse is comprised of a number of segments, including the racing purse; television awards; car owner special award plans, including the Winner's Circle Program; and a list of qualifying and special awards that may or may not be paid depending on the eligibility of the driver finishing in the appropriate position.
The racing purse breakdown designates a set amount for positions 1-43 that decreases on a sliding scale. "Television Awards" are also posted for each position, using the same sliding scale from first to 43rd.

Well, it depends on the driver and his team contract. The contract usually stipulates that the driver recieves a salary and a percentage of race winnings (and product sales).

I can tell who I won't be rooting. All the cup drivers Busch whacking. I guess that really makes no sense now that it is called the Nationwide Series but I have not came up with any catchy phrase for it.
