I realize this has probably been answered 54 times on here, but I can't find it. After watching the race at Martinsville, I couldn't figure out why Gordon was so pissed at Johnson for not giving him room. Why should Johnson have given 24 room? I understand they're teammates, but so what. Just because a guy is my teammate I'm supposed to give him the chance to beat me on the last lap? It reminds me of when Lance Armstrong started out and people were getting mad at him for not letting his teammates win, why should he have? Should Johnson have raced his tail off and then let up on the final lap? I understand helping your teammate out, but since when does helping your teammate out mean you should give them a chance to beat you...

Johnson gave him room twice and Gordon couldn't make the pass. Gordon was just upset because that's how he is.

i could agree. i'm no longer a Gordon or Johnson fan, yet once you're the 24 team and also you know the 40 8 team has between the finest photos at beating you out of the championship, why are you going to furnish all of them the help they could get? I understand providing some documents because they are teammates, yet no longer the completed setup! i imagine it really is Gordon's fault for no longer taking Johnson out. He must have squeezed Jimmie into the wall and brought the win. i won't be able to stand Jimmie Johnson's personality. however that's truly like Gordon's, that's only a replica. Jimmie in simple terms seems a touch pretend.

Every driver wants to win the race. Even if it is a team mate ahead of you, coming in second just means that you are the first "loser." Gordon was upset because he knew that he had the better car and that he could've gotten around Jimmie Johnson if he hadn't been blocking him.

Blocking is part of racing, though. I don't condone a driver blocking during the early parts of a race. It's not smart at all. There are too many laps to go and it can cause wrecks. However, in the final laps, blocking is acceptable. Like I said, it's part of racing. The winner isn't always the driver with the fastest car. Sometimes it's the driver that wants it the most.

Gordon could've used a "bump and run" on Johnson. I've seen Gordon do it dozens of times, usually without wrecking the car in front of him. He did it at least twice to win at Bristol, by moving Rusty Wallace up the track enough to go under him and steal the win.

Personally, Gordon should quit whining. He knew his options and chose to let his team mate get away with blocking him. He needs to handle his business on the track.

Gordon had the best car by far all day long. Jimmie kept blocking him for the last 10 - 15 laps and thats not kosher between team mates. It's no big deal, Gordon will have a chance to do the same thing one of these days and Jimmie will be pissed. What goes around, comes around. Had it been anyone else, Gordon would have tapped them out of the way.

Jeff Gordons just frustrated, I read in last weeks Sports Illustrated, that Jeff Gordon was just frustrated that Jimmie Johnson is better than Jeff Gordon is. ANd I don't think that Johnson should have moved over. And get over it I'm not bad mouthing any one, but the race was a week ago its done its over, don't go stressing about it.

I would have to agree. Teammate's go out the window when you are on the final lap on any race. I think Gordon is frustrated. Because the student has become the teacher. Along with alot of frustrations NASCAR wide with the advent of the COT.

I could not figure out why he was so mad either. He get points for being a winning owner and for second place too. He gets paid well for both of those too. He was just mad because Jimmy didn't roll over and play dead. Would he have done the same for Jimmy? No I think not. Being a Lowe's owner asso. I would have been really mad if he had wrecked Jimmy messin around the way he was. I would have wanted him to pay to replace the car. Not me.

#24 was probably upset because he only needs 1 more win to tie the Great Intimidator #3 Earnhardt Sr. with 76 wins. He's probably just very anxious to make it that far. That would mean alot to him I'm sure. Gordon handled it very well I thought. If it were anyone else except for a teammate, he would've tried taking them out. Interviews showed he was okay with 2nd place. He's just anxious that's all.

Lets see... Gordon was so mad because HE"S A WHINY BABY... He believed he was going to win that race and thought he would have it handed over to him. I was super proud of Johnson for not moving over and letting the baby win the race. Johnson won and that is that. I'm not even a fan of either of them and i was yelling GO JIMMY GO at the end of that.

Actually the "gentlemen's agreement" in NASCAR is that another driver gives someone else room if their car is faster. While I am a Hendricks fan, I think Jimmie should have clearly given Gordon the room to pass him.
