I think it is awesome. It will be an event that takes place before the Challenge. I am probably looking forward to that more than the actual All-Star event. And, not ALL the crew chiefs are participating.
Scheduled to drive is:
1~Kevin "Bono" Manion (Martin Truex Jr)
5~Alan Gustafson (Kyle Busch)
07~Gil Martin (Clint Bowyer)
8~Tony Eury Jr (Dale Earnhardt Jr)
24~Steve Letarte (Jeff Gordon)
25~Darian Grubb (Casey Mears)
29~Todd Berrier (Kevin Harvick)
31~Scott Miller (Jeff Burton)
40~Steve Lane (David Stremme)
41~Jimmy Elledge (Reed Sorenson)
43~Paul Andrews (Bobby Labonte)
45~Billy Wilburn (Kyle Petty)
48~Chad Knaus (Jimmie Johnson)
Plus Former CC's:
11~Jeff Hammond
28~Larry McReynolds
They are only going to use the 1/4 mile Legends track (the mini-track that uses the frontstretch and pit road), not the full 1 1/2. They will be racing Thunder Roadsters. They will be painted to match their Cup cars. It will take approxamately 30 minutes. It will include two qualifying heats and a feature race. The CC's participating all racers or former racers. I am surprised that Robbie Reiser is not participating. But, no Roush teams are, so that may be why. Only HMS, PE, CGR, DEI and RCR teams are entered so far (with the exception of the 42 and 15 not being on the list)

Find that a bit hard to believe, but you never know. I wouldn't put anything past Humpy. It would require a lot of work in some cases. Probably another specially prepared car. Just consider the size and physical fitness of some of the crew chiefs (do you remember Brad Parrott trying to do a cartwheel?). Can you see Fatback getting into a car? Yikes!
However, some of the crew chiefs are former drivers, like Robbie Reiser (although its been a long time). It would definitely be a hoot to watch!

I'm looking forward for that. I bet is going to be real funny. I don't know about other crew chiefs, but I had heard stories on Chad Knaus driving race cars- not good-
Is going to be new experience, and entertainment

I think it will be a hoot and can't wait to watch it. Too bad Robbie Reiser won't be in it he was a pretty decent driver back when he and Matt Kenseth were rivals on the tracks in southern Wisconsin.

I think that you've had your chain pulled. NASCAR has released no such nonsense. The only possible changes that have been announced is that they may get away from the field inversion and that they will allow the top 2 finishers from the race that allows non-qualifiers into the all-star event. They may even drop it from a 3 segment race to a 2 segment race. NASCAR.com is the best place to find all this out as news is made available. I don't like their new format as much as their old one, but you have to deal with change (I guess).

Use spell check and learn to speak properly, and use proper grammar. You are giving other race fans a bad name by looking like an idiot.
