I think in the last race there were 18 Chevys, 11 Dodges, 9 Fords, and 5 Toyotas. I think that the car manufacturers should all have the same amount. I was just wondering how come there are so many more Chevys.

And I have the correct answer for this. It is a fact that NASCAR is a pro chevy organization. More Chevys are in Nascar because they have an unfair advantage over the other 3 makes in the old car which they will race at TMS next weekend. What team would not want an unfair advantage over the other makes and Nascar made that possible when the Monte Carlo that Chevy way back in 95 was horrible. So Nascar gave them a 3 inch kickout on the nose that has yet to disappear. A major front end downforce advantage, less push in the corners. When Ford introduced the Taurus in 1998, it took 7 out of the top 10 spots at the Las vegas race, so Nascar(Chevy lovin') took and slapped a spoiler change on the Ford. They did not do anything to Chevy in 1995 when they took 26 out of 33 races that year so teams know this and pick the brand most loved by Nascar so they have the best chance to win. Make that nose look like the real monte carlo like the ford and toyota and see how many races they win, it would be alot less. And to the guy that said Ford Dodge and Toyota suck is exactly why I will most of the time unless I feel like it is not worth wasting my gas smoke a Chevy with my Mustang including Vettes.

No will good answer. But the choice is upto each team,What does each manufacturer offer in the incentive line, team trucks?Assist with surcharges?
Chey has been the major manufacturer in NASCAR since the start but along the way Ford,Dodge,Plymouth....have come along and if they show promise teams switch. But if the performance slacks teams change back.
So the bottom line is the incentives that a manufacturer offers determines which type car is used.Today there are more incentive packages for chevrolet than the others.

Parts are cheaper and there are more aftermarket performance parts for GM products. This making the car team loyal to the make in entry level racers. When the team can afford to upgrade to NASCAR, they stay with what got them there. Almost all the cars no matter what make don't use factory engines. Most common in my area are G&G. So when someone says the chevy beat the dodge or vice versa it is not the manufacture of the car it is the driver. Very few parts are actually factory, I cant think of 1 on the ASA navy car, of which the driver is a friend of mine, brakes tranny rear ends and engine are all speacialty racing.

Well here goes the Chevy vs. Ford debate. I have been a race fan for years and know for a fact that Chevrolet has done a lot more testing of its product that any other automobile manufacturer.

Quite simply...............Chevy has done its homework!

That is why the Car Of Tomorrow is not good for racing. If this takes hold all the efforts of the good automobile manufacturers will be lost.

Over all chevy has won more races. Toyotas have entered the race scene this year and seem to be doing pretty good I hate to say. It put mark martin at the top and this was his first year to drive one. I don't know much about fords and dodges. the car with the most oney has the most cars to support.

Part of it is support. Chevy is more willing to have more teams fielding its cars, and still be very compeitive.

Also, just because they race a Chevy, doesnt necessarly mean they are backed by Chevy. Some of your smaller teams might not have the Chevy support, but choose to run the cars anyway.

Ford and Dodge offer very little factory support for the Busch series. Whatever resources they have in stock car racing goes to Nextel Cup teams.
Number of years ago, a lot of the journeyman drivers that drove Ford in Winston Cup, would own and drive Chevys in the Busch series. Unless they drove for Roush/Yates/Wood.

Winners pick the best ENGINES ,since the cars are basically all the same.Don't feel bad FORD fans. You (FORD) are the only manufacturer that has a major component on EVERY car in the CUP garage. The bulletproof 9" FORD differential.Yes kiddies,it's true.

Different companies have different marketing / advertising budgets and priorities. Although I don't know for sure, but since GM is the largest car manufacturer in the world, thier marketing budget might very well be larger than Ford.
