Tony Stewart - He says it like it is and most people can't handle that.
Robby Gordon - He's aggressive, a bit too aggressive at times and gets a lot of people pissed at him. Awesome guy off the track though.
Michael Waltrip - Definately caused the most controversy this year
Harvick - Can you say anger management?
Kyle Busch - He's a punk, though I'll admit he has gotten a little better.

1. Michael Waltrip - Sold his soul to Toyota, is a mediocre driver as he cannot even qualify for a race. Cheated during the very first race of the season and then lied about not knowing about what happened, even though he did.
2. Tony Stewart - Not afraid to say what is on his mind and a lot of people cannot handle that.
3. Kyle Busch - Is pissing off more and more drivers with every race. Is driving like he has lost his mind.
4. Dale Jr - All of the drama surrounding his contract with DEI had him distracted at first but now he's gotten himself focused. Many want to know if he will leave DEI and go to RCR and drive his father's car.
5. Jimmie Johnson - The main cheater of Nascar. His team cheated their way to the 2006 championship and fans are still pissed off about it. Nascar throws a caution whenever Jimmie's team needs it...many believe that Nascar is fixing races so Jimmie can stay in the top 10 in points.

Generally the five most controversial drivers are usually the five biggest starts, because if you like one, you usually boo the guy who beats him.
My list (and not in any order): Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick, and Jr.

Jeff gordon (because well he isn't what he was)

Montoya (because he isn't getting any respect)
I am not following why the people are listing TOny Stewart what has he done THIS year to be on the list. I dont' see any contraversy from Tony this year. He is playing it pretty cool and hasn't lost it when maybe he should have.

Tony Stewart (says and does whatever comes to mind)
Kyle Busch (been driving super aggressive)
Jimmie Johnson (conspiracy theories surround him because of his success)
Kurt Busch and Kevin Harvick would have been on this list in the past but they seem to have mellowed out some. You could almost still make a case for Happy because Delana is pretty contoversial (wears hat during national anthem all the time and getting into it with other crews and/or drivers).
Hey Shooter, Jimmie Johnson is NOT a yankee unless that's the new term for Californians.
