I'd have to say Hendrick gets the 10. They have the leadership, equipment, technology, and right people in the right places. They have Jeff Gordon (i'm not a Gordon fan, btw), Jimmie Johnson (arguably the hottest shoe in NASCAR right now) and Kyle Busch, who can win races. All of their cars and drivers can win races, which cannot be said for many of the other teams.

Concerning DEI, I agree both Junior and Martin Truex are capable of winning races, but there is something missing. Perhaps it is the leadership of Dale, Sr., perhaps it is too much attention on Junior's rockstar status and differences with Teresa, maybe the unrealistic expectation placed on DEI to perform like it did before (same thing happening at Robert Yates) and Junior to perform like his dad. It is difficult to recreate the magic that RC and Sr had (Hendrick/Chad/Jimmie kinda have it now). Knowledgable fans recognize what the old man did for the sport and the drivers/teams of today, but I think the glory days of DEI may be behind them. This doesn't mean that Junior won't/can't win races--he will, but DEI (and the other teams)have a lot of catching up to do with Hendrick (and RCR).

As far as "racers," all of the aforementioned are great racers and could likely be successful with other teams. Today's NASCAR is an intricate combination of talent, skill, knowledge, experience, enthusiasm, passion, dedication, drive, technology, support, and many other things. The pieces have to come together just right for major success.

throughout history Hendrick ms has been pretty much a dominate team.the organization has 10 championships in all 3 of nascars top divisions and no telling how many wins.also they have an outstanding driver development program.they have nothing but class 1 drivers,JJ,JG,KB,and casey mears (which will get his win first win this year).on a scale of 1-10 i have to give them a 10.
DEI also has some talent,not near like hendrick,but they do.between the two juniors are 4 championships in the busch series.i think that when all the turmoil at dei is squared away they will be contending for championships again.lets not forget about paul menard or shane huffman.on a scale of 1-10 i will have to say a 7 right now.

This is an easy one to answer. Hendrick by far has outdone DEI over th past 10 years. I would even go further and say that had little E been driving for Hendrick, he would have at last twice as many wins as he does now. I mean just look at this year already, Hendrick is the best team out there and everyone else is playing catch up. the proof of a good team is wins and DEI is lagging badly.

Hendrick = 10
DEI = 7.5

At present, Hendrick Motorsports is the absolute best team in NASCAR. With 3 out of 4 drivers in the top 10 in points, it's hard to deny that they are the best. However, a lot of their success is because of Rick Hendrick's willingness to spend whatever he needs for the best equipment. They have great drivers, but when was the last time a Hendrick driver DNF'ed because of mechanical failure.

On the other hand, DEI's owner, Teresa Earnhardt, is not as willing to spend on R&D, and because of that, Dale Jr., Truex Jr., and Paul Menard all have major troubles during the race with their cars and are unable to keep up with the Hendrick and RCR drivers.

In terms of drivers, it's hard to say which team has the better ones. If you look at the stats, Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson beat out Dale Jr. and Truex Jr. But a large part of Jeff and Jimmie's successes is because of Rick Hendrick's incredible resources and equipment.

Drew C - Vickers left Hendricks for Toyota Red Bull this off-season. Hendrick basically threw the 25 out there in respect to Ricky and Papa Joe and it wasn't given the funding it needed to make the equipment up to par.

Hendrick has the better equipment, and DEI isn't showing they are closing the gap the way the other major Chevy teams are (RCR and Joe Gibbs Racing) over the last season-plus.

Drivers, it iseasy to say who has the better headline driver (Gordon & Jr.) seeing that Gordon has better equipment, has won 4 titles, and is the winningest active driver. Even if he is on the downside of his career, he still has something that DEI drivers lack. He is also better on all types of tracks, except possibly restrictor plate tracks, but it takes being able to in on them all, and Gordon is no slouch on plate tracks. The second and third drivers are easily Hendrick drivers, as Truex and Menard are nowhere near as good as Kyle Busch, let alone Jimmie Johnson.

Hendrick has better racers and a better organization. I give them a 10. DEI is a younger organization, but they don't have any nextel cup championships. Hendrick has 6 championships and could be well under way to 7. I give DEI a rating of 7. They are not the worst organization, but they are up there near the top. The other thing that I'm surprised by is that DEI has had such good Busch programs that it should have helped them in the cup series. Basically, what RCR did last year. DEI is a great organization, but if they loose Jr. there's no way they will catch Hendrick.

It's Hendrick not Hindrick. DEI is a joke and Junior is the most over-rated driver in the history of the sport. Jeff Gordon is the greatest driver of all time. Ever!!! This is a no brainer. Hendrick Motorsports wins 10-0 in your silly little poll.

Hendricks 10
DEI 6

Rick Hendrick has always known how to scout talent and has the patience to develop it and help it grow. 22 years in the Industry now and he just knows how to pick the best Drivers out there. Only Jack Roush and Joe Gibbs have the same talent at picking talent as Rick Hendrick does.

DEI got Junior by default. Aside from that their recruiting record has been terrible. They focus on their Drivers strengths (Restrictor plates when Michael Waltrip was there) and allow their weaknesses to keep being weak. All attention is on Junior leaving Truex Jr. and Menarad as mere developmental Drivers for Junior.

DEI's concempt of putting all their eggs in one basket (Jr.) is it's weakness and will keep it a sub standard team for as long as it exsists

Let's see now, Rick Hendrick is the winningest owner in all of sports, not just racing, since 1995 (6 championships) and DEI has none. Jeff Gordon is one of the winningest drivers in the history of NASCAR and Jimmie Johnson has had the best average finish of any driver over the last 5 years (since he's been fulltime in the Cup series). They get a 10 for their team and a 9 for the drivers (only because that 4th team has not been real consistent). DEI gets about a 5 for their teams (the 15 team has only qualified for 1/2 the races) and a 6 for the drivers (Busch championships don't mean too much racing against the big boys and Jr's ability is way overrated because of his popularity and last name).
