that actually puts your car at a disadvantage? You want it to be higher, not lower. So obviously that wasn't intentional.

DOVER, Del. -- Carl Edwards' race-winning No. 99 Ford failed post-race inspection following Sunday's Dodge Dealers 400 at Dover International Raceway, which could lead to penalties assessed against the Roush Fenway Racing operation later this week.

"The car was found to be too low in the right-rear," NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston said (watch video). "The height exceeded NASCAR's tolerances.

"This is not considered a Car of Tomorrow-type penalty. There's no evidence of manipulation of the integrity of the structure of the car. It's a heights-inspection infraction."

Poston said the car will be taken to its North Carolina research and development center for further inspection, while NASCAR officials will debate what penalties will be assessed...

Whether it's at the track or meeting a driver somewhere, I'm just curious. I'll share mine when I pick my favorite.

I think the Dover trophy is awesome, with the Dover monster holding up the winner's car. But there are a lot of good ones out there, some are very coveted by the drivers. Opinions?

I say, let each driver/team choose their own make (Chevy/Toyota/Buick/Ford/Honda/Other. Drivers buy their own cars or get sponsorships from the auto-manufacturer and a donated stock car (notice I said "stock" car - as in the same car you buy when you go down and get one at the corner auto dealership). Drivers invest their own money or get sponsors to contribute money to change the car to make it more competitive.

Total value of all car mod's cannot exceed $7,500 - to be spent how ever the driver/team wants. Limitations are placed on what kind of car can be used (must be a 4-door sedan, no SUVs or crossovers) and what can be modified (such as no mod's to original dashboard, suspension, body panels, etc.).

That was Denny's race. He had the fastest car but his patience or lack of cost him the race!! If Tony Stewart or Jimmy Johnson was in that car, we would have seen it in Victory Lane!!!! Patience! Patience! Patience!!!!

Why didn't they lap him? Didn't they pull Kurt Busch from a race for doing the same thing on pit road? I think he should have been pulled to the back for that. It was uncalled for and not fair.

What do you think about drivers not in the chase having to tip toe around the cars that are in the chase?
Remember those cars also have obligations to their sponsors!
Go MATT!!!!

First putting his hand through a cabinet (and he makes a living with his hands, so why risk it?), and now nutting out on Denny Hamlin, who did nothing wrong? He's been in other wrecks and come out with a smile on his face, so what gives with his trying to start something with Hamlin while Hamlin was still in the car, which is a classic punk move? It was really quite bizarre. Anyone got any theories as to what's up Petty's @$$?

Also do you think this will mark the end of his career behind the wheel as a NHRA Driver?

I mean, since retirement from Driver duties seemed imminent, will injuries sustained yesterday definitely put this horrific accident as John's last run?

If your offended...Sorry..just a thing I noticed since being a Dale Jr fan since 1999 and seeing literal walking budwieser billboards at races and on tv. Of course its not only jr..Kasey Kahne has his share of Dodge billboards roaming around also.

Tell me what you think of this paragraph:

If the magical power of HMS is great enough to turn less-than-mediocre drivers, like Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson, into champions, think what it can do with Dale Earnhardt, Jr, the greatest driver in all the many Universes. In fact, Jr. will be so good that NASCAR will make a new rule that says that once a car is twenty laps ahead of all the others, every lap until the end of the race will be counted as a victory. Therefore, it won't just be thirty-six Cup races Jr. wins next year, he'll be awarded with 112 victories, the most ever in one season. And, he won't ever have to worry about sponsorship again, because he'll be sponsored by God.

Add to it if you wish.

He was up around 15th all day and ended up tenth after all the carnage. One thing he always seems to do is to dodge wrecked cars well. I didn't see him wrecking anyone from what I saw.
