I really don't agree with the swearing penalizing. At least if it is less serious words. I think its unfair to penalize points and money for saying crap (in other words) yes it is a family sport but with sponsors like Budweiser and Jack Daniels how can you shield your child from seeing the sponsors logos. Let them say what they want.
As for the celebrations, don't stop that either. I love to see back flips and fence climbing. take that away and next thing you know drivers can't do burn-outs and pay tribute to Dale sr. NASCAR needs to stop making silly rules and let them be individual drivers.

I would not want to see the individualism in celebrations stopped. It would take away from the end of the race rush for the drivers. I do agree that it is a family sport and there should be some control over the swearing. Fines may not be the right thing to do but what else can Nascar do about it?? Want Nascar to set a team out of the next race for swearing? I don't think so!!

Like Cup, Busch wants to put the best line-up on the track and if that mean that a lot of them a Cup drivers, so be it. Busch is still a development series to a point. There are 43 drivers in a Busch or Cup race and even if there were no Cup drivers in Busch not all of them would be contenders ready to move up to an open spot with a Cup team either as development driver (Bower) or a upstart (Ambrose/Gilliland). If the Cup drivers weren't in Busch the the series you would end up being filled with field fillers from Hooters and other lowers series and that would hurt the gate/ratings and the sponsors dollars for the team. Mean that the big teams (Roush/RCR/HMS) would be the ones to pour all there funds into a couple of teams who would dominate and win all the races the way it is now. Only with a lesser payday for the drivers, and damage the talent racing in the real development serices. Today Busch isn't the only place that Cup looks to for it's next wave of future drivers, that role hase been expanded to IRL Champ Car and F1. Of the current chase contenders only a few have come up after running more than two seasons or more in Busch before making the jump to Cup. Cup drivers in Busch help the Busch drivers by allowing them a chance to drive with the best drivers in NASCAR on a week in week out basis and to learn from them. And new (at the time) Cup driver can improve there skills while competing with more established teams.

My favorite nascar driver is Tony Stewart and I like when he climbs the fence but i also think its very stupid to not be able to swear on TV and to get a big fine for it.(Everyone else does it)!!!!

Um....lots of fans *like* the fence climb and the flip! I'm one of them!

But I think they should stop penalizing for swearing. They have a lot of adrenaline going in them. I certainly sound worse watching at home.

They should. Swearing can't hurt anybody; however, and post-race fatigued fat-boy Stewart could easliy fall to his death while climbing the fence. Also, fake-a s s Edwards could easily fall on his head while doing those silly, absurd back flips. I would enjoy seeing both of those scenarios though.

they shouldnt penalize guys for swearing, but the fans love the celebrations so i say let em' celebrate but to a minimum...Tony gets tired halfway up the fence, and it takes forever! lol (not hatin on Smoke but its true)

that is there celebration. Do you realize how hard it is to win a Nascar race? It must be a rush,.. why would you want to deny them that. What you are talking about is a completely different issue.

No. The celebration stuff is fun. The swearing is offensive. Though I don't like it so much when they abuse the cars after they win.
