Don't start flaming, this is actually on my mind and I'm..well, just curious...

If people supposedly lived 900+ year lives in the past, and the earth is uh..6000 years old... wouldn't there have been only three generations of people before the 'flood'? I don't re-eally think the earth populated itself quite that fast with two people having incestual relations with their children...Considering the /billions/ of people on earth today...I'm actually curious, does the bible correct or have an explanation for this anywhere?

I'm not sure I believe what my parents believe anymore. I'm not sure what I believe. What should I do. "Believe X or go to hell" doesn't sound very comforting anymore.

If it was a flood to wipe out all of mankind how did Noah manage to keep his boat from sinking? Where was he with all those animals in these horrendous conditions? And considering he was 600 years old he seemed to have been doing a good job of steering a ship and looking after every animal on the planet..

When was the last atheist criminal????
When I think about it, I have never seen on the news or read about an atheist is a newspaper or magazine who commited any crime. I keep hearing that us atheist are the most immoral people on the planet. Surveys show that about 1 or 2 percent of the American population is atheist. Thats a few million people. If atheists are all so evil, then how come out of all the atheists in America, I never hear about any of them commiting a crime. I have never heard it. Not 1. Ever. I hear about Christians killing doctors and kidnapping gay people all the time. Never heard of an atheist who did anything like that. Now I know that you Christians are going to come back at me saying "Well, they arn't real Christians." Maybe that true that they arn't real Christians, but if they believe in God they arn't real atheists either.

Just do whatever you want, it doesn't count anyway as long as you accept Jesus as your Savior.
Forget the Golden Rule. You don't have to follow Jesus or listen to the lessons he taught. Just be "Washed in the Blood of the Lamb"

I am having trouble reconciling this question. Can a soldier call himself a Christian? I know that the bible says in the sixth commandment "Thou Shall Not Kill". Does this carry a special dispensation for soldiers? Does God judge soldiers different? If they are judged differently to them or this do not apply, why wouldn't it under the New Covenant?

Feel free to rip me with your viewpoint, I won't get my feelings hurt. I do ask however that you have some sound logic and or facts to back it up. I have been struggling with this question for awhile now but have yet to find an answer that would explain this quagmire.

Jesus died on the cross for are sins and to destroy the curse of death and destroy the devils works. The blood cleansed us all. Living in Christ is life, but living in sin is death. Repenting and giving your life to Christ will save you from the pit. And your name will be written in lambs book of life.

I read a post here today from someone who said basically, "Believing in the God Myth is a luxury I can no longer afford"....and I wonder if any of you feel the same way; and if I can ask this respectfully to help me as a believer maybe better understand your POV - what do you mean by "luxury you can no longer afford" as I have heard that phrase before of course, but never used in this context?

Would really be sincerely interested in your replies....thanks!

After some of the tallest stories ever -talking donkeys, water walking. fish and loaves etc etc I have just learnt that Noah, not content with his flood tale, was over 600 years old?! Does it really state that some humans lived this long? And people still believe it? Please tell me this isn't true..

I have seen Christian converts to Islam question the Trinity?. Some have gone has far has attack Christanity has a pagan religion. My question to you is why do you think has a human being(you are not God) you will understand the Trinity. Do you guys think you are more powerful than God to understand God himself?. Why are you using a human perspective to understand trinity. If God wanted to test your faith wouldn't it seem logical for God to give you an opportunity in the form of Trinity. If God gave you everything as straight forward like you wanted to see how can God test your faith towards him?
For User ID manhornz: I. Read Matthew Chapter 7 verse 15. It says" beware of false prophets, who come to you in Sheep's Clothing but underneath are ravenous wolves" you have not yet provided me with a rebuttal so why should I leave my faith. Did Abraham question his faith when God asked him to sacrifice his Son, which would seem the most illogical thing from a human perspective to do?.

Everyone has their own perspective or that we are are all related? LOL

I think it's both...we are each other's brother's and sisters, yes? Shouldn't we try to see from other's perspectives in order to love and understand one another? What are your thoughts?

How many of you think religion is such a huge conspiracy like I do?

I personally believe The Bible was written by heaps of different author's who added their own opinions to it over time.

And has this whole Da Vinci Code business made you wonder more about things.

Apparently one guy now things it isn't Mary Magdalene in The Last Supper painting but Mary as in Jesus' mother sitting beside him.

Religion is way too confusing for me at times lol, eventhough I didn't do too bad with it at school.

No hate lectures from Christians thinking I'm being a pagan or speaking blasphemy ethier, you'll just be ignored.
