When was the last atheist criminal????
When I think about it, I have never seen on the news or read about an atheist is a newspaper or magazine who commited any crime. I keep hearing that us atheist are the most immoral people on the planet. Surveys show that about 1 or 2 percent of the American population is atheist. Thats a few million people. If atheists are all so evil, then how come out of all the atheists in America, I never hear about any of them commiting a crime. I have never heard it. Not 1. Ever. I hear about Christians killing doctors and kidnapping gay people all the time. Never heard of an atheist who did anything like that. Now I know that you Christians are going to come back at me saying "Well, they arn't real Christians." Maybe that true that they arn't real Christians, but if they believe in God they arn't real atheists either.

I guess that once you've eliminated the basis for all the bozos who claim they acted "on behalf of god", we atheists do not have that many reasons to want to hurt other people (and seek forgiveness thereafter, maybe).
That question should prove interesting. Let me star it.

Actually recent figures put the percentage of Atheist Americans at around 8%. but less than 1% of prison populations.

There are statistics from the one study about people in jail. It was like .22% atheist. The problem is the first study had agnostics, unknown, and atheists lumped together and that total percentage was like 25% or something.

the last part of you question is very true. I think that atheist commit crimes (every religion has people that commit crimes, whether it's in the name of the religion is an entirely different story) but it just goes unreported that they were an atheist.

Atheists do commit crimes, but they don't commit crimes in the name of atheism. Terrorists kill for their religion. Fundamentalists kill for their beliefs. Extremist in all religions kill for their religion. Atheists do not.
