Yeah.
They're convinced humans lived upwards of nearly a thousand years in some cases.
*snicker*
And the world's only 6,000 years old.

EDIT: Quailman...
The longest unambiguously documented lifespan is that of Jeanne Calment of France (1875 – 1997), who was aged 122 years.
So much for your God's promise to Abraham, eh?

Here are some possible reasons early men lived so long.
1. Pure gene pool created with Adam and Eve that was not damaged by past generations of disease, radiation, drugs, etc.
2. Pure environment without pollution.
3. Possibly there was a different climate before the flood.
4. Possibly because of God's help, letting people live longer to populate the Earth.

I may be reading more into your question than I need to but here is an option. On the Kenneth Copeland program there was a man and I dont remember his name or job or his back ground but he presented a possibility and even Doctors now a days are backing some of this. In the days of the bible we did not have the unhealthy food that we eat now. We did not have the poor air quality or just about anything else that is bad for you. So yes I believe that man could have lived longer in those days than now. We have people dying at early ages do to stress bad eating habits etc.

Yup! It sure is! Sorry to break it to ya', but he was just a youth compared to a previous character named Methuselah, who lived to be... '964' years old! Keep in mind, God originally intended for people to live forever. It wasn't until after the flood that He decided to shorten their life span, due to the potential sinful nature of mankind. It was reduced to 120 as the absolute maximum, however the general range is within 70 years. Some more some less. Boy, if those truths astound you, then you'll really have a field day with the one, about the jar of oil that only started with about 1/2 a cup, yet it was poured into, and filled up many other containers. To provide for a widow and her son, during a famine. If that doesn't amaze you, you might want to read the 1St & 2nd Kings, as well, as 1St & 2nd Samuel for other 'hair raising' miracles God performed in the old testament times. Hopefully, you will discard you sceptisism along the way.

according to Genesis9.29, Noah lived 950 years.....
at that time people used to live that long, but because of the sin, God told Abraham that the people's average age will be 120 years.... interesting isn't?

It also states that God decreed humans should now live `three score years and ten` rather than for centuries. maybe they did, so many thing people long thought as fanciful thinking has been proved true by scientists etc

That is correct, according to the Bible. Noah was 600 years old. However, people back then did not use the same calendar we use. Don't think of it - the way we celebrate birthdays these days.

Adam lived to be over 900 years old. People were closer to perfection then. It takes a while for a clock to unwind.

Times we much simpler then. Adam lived 930 years. But before he sinned God had created him to live forever. Us Christians WILL NEVER DIE!
Jhn 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Jhn 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
