There is no other religion in the world whose book commands its followers to kill the non-believers. In the light of what the book says and the actions of millions of the followers, is it reasonable to call it a religion of peace???

This is not any sort of insult to Pentecostals or any other charismatics. It's simply an observation that everyone I've met from this faith came from a troubled background (drug abuse, bad family, criminal past), ect. I'm curious as to how these denominations appeal specifically to those persons.

masterbate without a guilt complex, espcially if you do this in privite and do not advertise what you do. I am a widow and do not intend on getting married again or involved with another man or anyone else in this department. I don't want to bash him. I don't think Chistians should be angry with him. It seems that many are saying he was a well respected leader. But the more I hear what he said and did, even before he was caught in his affair/drug scandal, I don't see him as someone who would be well respected, atleast in the Christian circles I run in. HBO is highlighting religous leaders who seem to be kinda out there. It seems that the media fccuses on the kinda wierd Christian groups who are not really respected by most evangelical Christians. What he did is newsworthy but his story gets run up alittle too much.

I've heard that a person's surest way to Heaven is to praise Jesus, and be very emotional and fervent about it -- and the more fervently you profess your admiration of Jesus, the more sure is your seat in Heaven. So is this mainly what Jesus is looking for? Fervency and emotion?

And all the other fake TV preachers, who just want nothing more than your money, or else they wouldn't have "locked-down" churches, body guards, $100K end tables in their "houses" ? How come so many are happily following along ? Do you have nothing better to believe in other than the almighty Dollar ?

Why not serve your fellow man, as Christ COMMANDED, not take him for every dime you can get. Your success in life does not hinge on whether or not Paula or any other can "heal" you, or sell you the latest greatest advice.

They don't understand & reject the teaching of the cross.

To me, these religions make light or call foolish what Jesus did on the cross as sufficient for the remission of our sins. Jesus said on the cross, "It is finished!". He knew He was without sin in His humanity, and He knew He accomplished the task.

Some people sing songs in church with repeating verses in them. Some of these people the claim that another person chanting a prayer with repeating lines in it is engaged in vain idolatrous repetition. How is one ok and the other not? I realize such extremists are a minority (fortunately) but why do they freak out about minor differences?
