As a Jewish male, it would be expected that he marry... so, the possibility exists.

There is no written text to this effect, although it was a popular element of gnostic thought in the middle ages. But then this was a time when the idea of a 'sacred marriage' was promoted in esoteric practices such as alchemy, so perhaps that's not surprising.

The nearest we have is a passage in the 'Gospel of Philip', an apocryphal text (from Nag Hammadi) which tells of a closeness between the Magdalene and Jesus of which the other apostles were jealous.

The bottom line is that Jesus has sisters and brothers. Why not a wife? Surely at his age he would normally have been married?

I really don't think it matters if Jesus was married or not, although He wasn't. Marriage is not a sin. His purpose on earth was to teach, enlighten and save us all, not to marry.

On a side note, there is a muslim who said Jesus never existed. I believe most people, not just Christians, know that He did. I thought islam has Jesus as a prophet of God or is that just more lies from this false religion?

May God Bless you.

Don't be so ridiculous! NO He did NOT! He came to Earth with human understanding so that he was moved by everything that man suffers, but He was superior to the wants and desires of mankind. His mission in life was to redeem humanity from orginal sin, not commit more orginal sin. The role that Mary Magdalene played was to oint him with expensive perfume and wipe his feet with her hair. I DONT BELIEVE this hype about Jesus marrying Mary Magdalene and having children by her. I think this is sacreligious!

Does it really matter if he was married or not. I mean come on now in the grand scheme of things, whats really important is the message he came here to bring. For the record yes i do believe it, but that doesn't change my perception of Jesus. Please get over this and start thinking about how to be more godlike ie.how to be a better person

No, he was married to some lady named Mary, but not Mary Magedaline.

Even though I'm a Muslim, I still have the right to believe that Jesus was the Christ.

I respect all religions.

No, Jesus wasn't married to anyone. Check the Bible, historical accounts. There just isn't any real basis to even suggest this idea.

ProudMuslimah: You are such a moronic idiot - in the Qu'ran it specifically states that Jesus existed and recognises him as a prophet in the Islamic faith. One wonders how you can say your religion is 'beautiful' if you have no clue what it actually says. I've seen many of your silly answers and I can tell you now that you are not setting a good image of Muslims by bad-mouthing other people's religions.

This is ridiculous. NO.
Jesus didn't come here to get married. He didn't come here to be a good teacher. He didn't come here to be an example and tell people about God. He came here for one reason.
To die for our sins! This is what he told Peter.
And the person sitting to the right of Jesus in the last supper painting IS John. He was young and we have the sketches of Da vinci that has his name on the back! And did you know Mary Mag. was not a prostitute? She had 7 demons. See how the facts get changed?
