Why would God slay his only begotten son for my supposed sins? Why create sin at ALL? Should he have to prove himself in text if he exists? I certainly don't believe he (she, it) would create humankind so that everyone can try to live up to him and fail. Do you think a god-figure would accept only believers, regardless of their bad deeds? Wouldn't he (she, it) open paradise to all and sundry? From the beginning.
I was reported for my original post of this question. A number of answerers seemed to find my question worthy of a diagnosis, so let me be straight: I am not depressed or despairing. I am also not being hostile, but I do find that is an accusation made often when someone does not have an answer. I am agnostic. I believe there may very well be an energy in this world that is beyond our knowledge. I am also a humanist. Would my serving humankind compassionately and respectfully not be "enough" for ANY god?
