Instead, you tell us that Jesus hates us, that God himself hates us, that our souls will be torn by Satan himself, and that we do not deserve to live.

There was a Christian (who changed his screen name to Brian J Warner, or something like that) who said that he wanted to KILL atheists and watch them burn in hell. Yet few Christians scolded him. Some even agreed with him, saying "amen!"

Surely you understand all who call themselves by a name of any group do not speak for the entirety of the group...If you have concerns as to what a Christian should be read the story of Christ. Of course there are some narrow minded dimwits who call themselves Chrisitans and the same can be said of any group it is a sad fact but could be worse these dimwits could be killing in the name of God as has happened before and still happens in the name of Islam. Try not to associate the few with teachings of Christ.

Well, I've never heard of the guy, and i've also not ever heard anybody say that Jesus hates you. I don't think Jesus would appreciate some guy talking for Him - He can handle things quite well on His own. Look, I don't care what group you are with, Christian, Buddhist, or even a knitting group: the fact is, in every group there are good regular people, and then there are nut cases. Thats true of Christians AND all others. We don't have any control over some nut and what he writes into this forum, ya know?? As far as setting athiests an example, well all I can do is that - set an example. Just as you bring up the Christian guy saying those things, there are also questions like: "what would Jesus say if I told him I bent mary over and plucked her?" These questions come in here on a regular basis. So, set an example, yeah, sure, but if by that you mean to just sit here and act like a bunch of wimps, forget it. And to sit here and beg & plead for someone to "find Jesus" - forget that, too. If someone is dead-set against God, there isn't anything that can be said that would change that. God is either your Father, or you have another one, period. Since you are alive, I would have to assume that God feels you deserve to. God knows who's who, and I certainly am not gonna pretend i know better than He does.

ROFLMAO!

Dude, you've been listening to the wrong people. You are listening to the radical Christians. You get those in EVER religion. The trick is to ignore the radicals and go on with your life as you see fit. A true Christian will not judge others because it's in the Bible "Judge not lest ye be judged".

I'm an Agnostic, I'm willing to believe just as long as someone can provide undeniable proof that there is a god.

As for the Hell ting, bla bla bla, they don't even know that the Hebrew word hell means to cover as in you hell a roof or you hell potatoes and the only place called Hell is a bottomless pit just outside of Jerusalem where they threw the bodies of the people who were stoned to death and thus throwing them into the pits of Hell.

I am a Christian and I have never said that to anyone. God loves us, and so does Jesus, so much that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. IF you end up in hell, that was a choice you freely made to turn your back on that gift of love that Jesus was trying to give you but you rejected it which was eternal salvation, but you refused to accept Him as your personal Savior.

There is a vast difference between a true Christian and one who merely claims to be one. When someone speaks of such hatred like that man you used as an example as well as those who agreed with him,.. those people are referred to as this in the Bible...

Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

1 John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

I hope this was helpful to you. I have no hatred for anyone in my heart. I may not like what some people do, but I do not hate them, put I pray for them.

Don't let that one bad representation bring down what you think of the whole group. That is not something that a true Christian would say.

As Christians we know that we are all unworthy....it's not just you atheists. So don't let some self-righteous creep turn you away from everything in Christianity. It's more then just a religion where you have to be "good". Please don't let that completely spoil your view of all Christians or even God(if you believed in him, of course).

Well some people say they're Christians but don't act like it. Jesus doesn't hate anyone. You have to walk the Christian walk to be a Christian!!

No Christians are not telling you that...

In fact God loves you so much he sent his own Son to die to pay the price for our sins....
so that we could have eternal life in Heaven....

Jesus is the sin bearer. God laid on Christ the guilt of all men and we get off scott free! It requires more than emotion to receive forgiveness based on what Christ did. It requires an act of your will. Have you ever acknowledged your sin before God?

Don't be afraid, God will not condemn you....He will direct you to the cross of Christ.....and you WILL receive forgiveness AND eternal life......It is His pleasure to extend mercy .

I apologize for those irascible Christians. It is said that the meek shall inherit the earth. I don't think there are many truly meek people here.

OK. so some of are members are retarded, some of our leaders are retarded, and many of our ranks are disturbingly ignorant of the Bible (some of them willfully) of which i am one. So its clearly been established that we aren't perfect, and this makes us different how? OK, so many of us are sheepish and wont contradict someone who is in a place of "authority" and makes a stupid decision, and as a body we have a long way to go. Which is why some of us work to fix these major problems.

but sadly your assessment is somewhat accurate.
