Because prayers are only answered (according to you) in one of three ways; Yes. No. Maybe.
And there is NO way to know which it will be.
So, praying is gambling. You never know when or if you're going to hit the jackpot. Sounds like a pretty poor way to live your life if you ask me but hey, I'm an Atheist, what do I know? I just rely on reality to see me through...

I know they use Binary codes and play with this for prophecies (BIBLE CODE)… but I was wondering if anyone ever tried to use a binary system to turn the Bible into music. Music is just mathematics’ and I would think that a good binary system should be able to make music out of the words from the Bible.

Jesus went to a place that some call "hell" or better known as a place called "Abraham's busom" or "Paradice" where all the ppl that belonged to God went BEFORE Christ's atoning death. He went there to minister to them & to set them free...Jesus caused the doorway to be opened for them, allowing access to Heaven forever. The others that are on the oppposite side of that chasm...are those that are still awaiting the final judgement of eternal condemnation.

...if any of your ancestors were executed as witches?

Note that I want an actual genealogy site, not just a list of confirmed dead witches, seeing as how the majority of my ancestors didn't have the same last name as I do.

Thx.

Every idea we have about cause and effect has only been tested in this universe, and not in even most places in this universe.

How can anyone then apply this logic that things need a creator to something outside the universe?

i dont know about you guys but I always hear christians saying that children are a gift from god.

if this is so, then wouldnt that mean that god gives gifts to unwed teenagers who have 1 night stands or arent even together and to people who dont want it. and yet u hear about all these couples who desperately want a child, and have faith in god, but one of them is sterile.

i dont get it, why is god giving gifts to people he deem immoral and sinful, but people who follow him dont necessarily get this gift.

This also means that the theory that we were genetically engineered by aliens is also plausible in the realm of intelligent design. Do you agree that this alien theory should be part of the intelligent design cirriculum as well? And are you willing to concede that if intelligent design were taught that all other creation myths should be included or just the Christian one?

I'm genuinely curious about this.

I mean, religion is just the traditions of men anyways.Christianity is a personal relationship with your creator. It's a lifestyle, and a devotion to God. On the other hand, Catholiscism and Buddism are religions. A religion is something man creates and it's something people shape to fit their personal preference. While Christianity is a way of life described in explicit detail in the Bible. In fact, the men who killed Jesus persecuted Him on false pretenses related to their religion, because they believed that no one could cast out demons unless it was in satan's name. When in actuality Jesus cast them out in the name of God. So, this begs the question why people can't distinguish between the two; religion and Christianity. Do you agree?

If God is so powerful, why does he go through such trouble to impress upon the devil that he is all powerful when he supposedly can just bit-ch slap him out of existence?

I came across a very nice saying recently:

"Bharat has taught the art of smooth travel for centuries. Learn that art and be at peace."

What would that art be? ... and is that not a very nice saying? I think so ... do you?

It's called "The Bible Unearthed" by Finkelstein and Silberman. It's all about how the Bible has this beautiful mythology, but that archeology has pretty much disproved nearly all of it as far as actual "truthfulness" goes. (It tells how there is a plethora of evidence to the contrary as far as the stories of Abraham, Moses, the Exodus, the Twelve Kingdoms, David and Soloman, etc.)

It's a really good book and I'm looking for more of the same, possibly with a New Testament archeological emphasis. Can anyone recommend a similar book?

In Theory there is a "god", however which or who this "god" is remains the primary question. However, Is there really a "god" or are we just some smaller entity of something that is greater?

For Example: We are made up of smaller organisms, but are they consicious of our existance; and or we their so-called "god"???

"oh, no.....don't put anything that even refers to God in the schools.
it might stop all the killing, fighting, disrespect, etc. that did not exist when God was in the schools.
what would the liberals do then?"

That's a quote from a religious person. Does anyone really believe that schools were free of violence due to God?
