I mean, what was the method of your brain washing? Was it via parents or some slick religious salesmen?

Actually Terry G, I have been very tolerant for many years however, religious story tellers the ones who like to spew about their wonderful fairy tales, well they want to say that I am going to some imaginary hell because I choose to believe that religions are man made fairy tales.
Am I a bigot if I make fun of people who believe in Santa Clause or the boogie man?

I was raised as a Muslim by my parents.
I accepted Islam for myself around the age of 14.
I got a Ph.D in Engineering from the USA in biomedical engineering where I was surrounded by Professors who are either Atheists or agnostic. AND EVERY THING I STUDIED PROVED TO ME THAT GOD DOES EXIST.
I have seen people at the same age of 14 who went in the other direction but I never cared to ask about who brain washed them or set their brain straight according to your ideas..
For me Quran is full of evidence that it is not the words of a human being and it must be coming from a higher power. try to avoid whoever brain washed you that God does not exist and read the Quran for yourself and tell me what you find
God bless

Who taught you ignorance, bigotry and hatred? Obviously you were brainwashed by someone with an extreme anger issue.
Update: You can be taught to be tolerant and patient of people and ideas you don't like. You can also be taught to disrespect everything you don't like and to insult anyone you wish. That is being taught ignorant behavior. You learned it well.
As far as making fun of people who believe in Santa Claus or the boogie man... that is just cruel and immature. I suspect you have some sort of inferiority complex. Try therapy. You may learn to like both yourself and the rest of the world. Best wishes.

My spiritual beliefs are my own. I grew up in a home with no talk of religion either way. When I was about 35, some weird coincidences began to happen to me, and led me to investigate into whether or not there was a God. I was very surprised to find that there is, indeed , a God. It is clear that you have made up your mind about this matter without any kind of investigation. (would you decide that Chryslers are junk without checking it out? would you make up your mind that you hate Cinese food without tasting it? would you decide that "Gone With the Wind" was a terrible book without reading it? would you look across a room and decide that you don't like a certain person without meeting them?) So, it is impossible to learn whether or not there is a God, if you already think you know all there is to know about the subject. Peace to you.

I was not indoctrinated. I felt the power of God and I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior. Since that time, I have seen and felt things that are unexplainable by science, but are clearly explained by the Bible.
May I ask you... Why do you feel the need to mock those with faith? Are you angry or resentful about something? Have you ever considered that you might be missing something in you own life?
I will pray that you someday recieve God's blessings as I do.
Jesus loves you, whether you like it or not!

I don't consider myself to be brainwashed and my "salesman" was God". He told me the Truth through His Word and my parents made certain that I got to attend church so that I could hear His Message preached, accept Jesus as my Savior, and have eternal life.
You consider our religions (Christianity and Islam) "fairy tales" yet can you answer the following questions ?
"Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth ? declare, if thou hast understanding.
Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest ? or who hath stretched the line upon it ?
Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;"
(Job 38:4-7)

Wow. You do like to try trapping flies with vinegar, don't you? (By traditional wisdom, honey works better.)
Fortunately I've got past the despair induced by the behaviour of some people notionally on my side.
I've moved on to resignation, of which I appear to have an adequate supply.

Actually, my relationship with Christ came before my "religion" - when you know someone personally there is no need for indoctrination or brainwashing. Christ came to me - not the other way around.
