These Morman people keep coming to our door trying to give us bibles but this time we didn't know who they were until they left. If they come again what should we say?

will they live forever in hell, suffering pain and agony? Or will they have a big party with others who refused salvation? Or will they just sleep forever?

what will it be like for those who pay the price for their own sins?

Is it like the 'evil' trinity: Satan, Lucifer and the Devil?

They are three very different creatures yet they are all the same entity?

I'm trying to find where the 'devil' originally came from but noticed that the Old Testament only mentions Satan. Only in the new test the word 'Devil' starts appearing. Any thoughts?

Why shouldn't we have evolved as automata which do everything we do without consciousness? What's the survival benefit of consciousness per se?

can you make a valid argument against absolute truth without believing in it? If you say that there is no such thing as absolute truth, you have just made an absolute statement. I'm interested in the ideas out there that refute this logic.

If evolution is true the characteristics of animals have been "selected for" in the environment. So they must have conveyed some competitive advantage on the gene concerned.

So what is the competitive advantage that the extreme stupidity and wilfull ignorance of the creationists confers?

Some of these people are either incredibly stupid or totally dishonest! They think a "lack of intermediate species" is just the same as "even if you hold arcaeopteryx in front of my face I'll just change my unspoken definition of intermediate species".

They wilfully mis-represent scientific method and terminology screaming "ITS A THEORY!!!!!!" without thinking of the theories we rely on everyday (relativity THEORY is used in international electronic communications).

They ignore the vast majority of Christians who have no problem believing in both God and evolution.

Surely people like this should have died out by now? If evolution were true.

I love to debate.
Let me clarify, a debate (to me) is a respectful, orderly conversation in which both parties are open minded and willing to at least consider the others points.

So why is it that everything here has to be an argument? All of us, atheist, Christian, and Muslim alike, have repeatedly posted the same posts and links, and have incited the same heated arguments for like...since Yahoo made this site. So, if you are here because you are open-minded and want to learn something, then cool, but if you are just here to be a jerk and argue, why don't you just log off the comp, go outside, find a g/f or b/f and get a life?

P.S.- Because I know someone is start calling me closed minded for being a Christian and blah blah... yes, I am here to learn from all different beliefs and walks of life, but I HIGHLY doubt that I will learn anything that will make me walk away from God.

What takes more faith...to believe that at one time there was absolutely nothing then all of a sudden without anything to influence it, matter came into being and eventually went on to form the complex universe that we study today. Or did matter always just exist because it did...? Why do people argue that God couldnt exist because He doesnt do things in the manner that they expect He should? Unbelievers dont like to hear that God is omniscient and knows better than they do, they view that as a cop-out. But isnt it a bigger cop-out to suppose that you as a mere person could think on the same level as God. You wouldnt expect an unlearned child to understand the complexities of advanced mathematical formulas would you? Then why do you assume you can rightly understand who God is wothout learning His ways? Would a child be correct in stating that physics didnt exist just because he didnt understand the formulas?

The God of the Bible, for example, displayed all kinds of human emotions and quirks; and many people still believe he exists and rules the universe. Our human race occupies an infinitesimal speck of the universe; yet the whole universe is ruled, many people suppose, by this humanoid God. Other Gods, too, are quite human. Wishful thinking on a grand scale perhaps?

To Argumentative You do know what the scientific method is right? no? ok

It involves observing something. Then formulating a theory. Then getting the data together. Seeing how the data fists against theory. Getting more data. Refining the theory (or scrapping it if the data doesn't fit) Repeat until proven or someone comes up with a new theory that replaces the old one based on new data.. Repeat again
