My mother doesn't share my spiritual sentiments, no, but she does respect my decision to have them and doesn't ridicule me for them. My father and I don't get along anyway so I don't think being Asatru will make any difference to him.
I think it's sad that any parent would ridicule their child's choice of religious path. If you really love your child you should accept that child completely for whom they are, even if you do disagree with what they believe in. Family is supposed to be a support unit after all, and if your family doesn't support you...well, that just says a lot about the parent as a person.

I was born into a family of Lutheran father and Orthodox mother. I think my dad is saved, I am not sure about my mom. I can talk better to my father about these issues of faith. We are very different though. I currently attend the non-denominational Christians church. I got baptized again as and adult.
