These Morman people keep coming to our door trying to give us bibles but this time we didn't know who they were until they left. If they come again what should we say?

Say "Thank You" and give them one of yours.

If they don't want your Bible tell them you don't need theirs.

If they can spread their propaganda at your door give them a little of their own medicine.

Hi!
I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as the Mormons) and I actually served a mission for my church, so I did what you're talking about -- going around and trying to teach people about Jesus Christ -- for about a year and a half. I just thought I'd clear up a couple of things for you.

First of all, you should know that the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ is not the Bible. We read the Bible and the Book of Mormon both. The Bible contains God's word to the people of the Middle East, and the Book of Mormon contains God's word to the people who lived on the American continent during ancient times. The Book of Mormon's purpose is to explain and support the teachings of the Bible. So we're definitely not trying to replace the Bible in any way. Next time when they come around if you'd like to learn more about it I hope you will take the opportunity.

But if you aren't interested, there's no need for a comeback. You can just tell the missionaries that you are aren't interested at that time. We want to give everybody the opportunity to learn more but they will understand if you don't want to learn right then. I personally really appreciated it if people were civil when they turned us down. Full-time missionaries don't get paid for what they do -- in fact, many of them save up for years before they go on their missions so they can support themselves. So they're really sincere. Just be nice and they'll understand.

Thanks! If you'd like to learn a little more about our basic beliefs, see this website: www.mormon.org.

The best is probably to tell them that you are comfortable in your beliefs and thank them for coming by.

I think the men are required to spend a year on the road doing some sort of missionary work. I sort of feel bad for them, away from their families having doors slammed in their faces. On the other hand I feel that they are promoting a false religion.

I offered them a drink and cookies on the porch and grilled them on doctrine for a solid hour. I'd recently had a college course on cults, so I had material to work with. These were remarkably well versed in Scripture. I enjoyed the polite debate. They didn't come back and I had to go to Confession.

2 Corinthians 6:14-16 do no longer be yoked which includes unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in person-friendly? Or what fellowship can basic have with darkness? What team spirit is there between Christ and devil? What does a believer have in person-friendly with an unbeliever? What contract is there between the temple of God and idols? a million Corinthians 7:39 a lady . . . is free to marry all of us she desires, yet he ought to belong to the Lord. very few i recognize of.

BTW, never open door to a stranger.

If you are a sweet kind person, just politely say "No, thank you. But, have a nice day" from the other side of the door. Sometimes you have to repeat it more firmly, cause they are persistant.

If you want to mess with them, tell them the devil is your master and that if they dont step away from your door, you are going to curse them.

...I dont really recommend the last one, but if you say it with conviction, they wont bother you again.

Just say, "Sorry, I'm not interested. Have a nice day." Then firmly close the door.

interrupt them and say that you are not interested in the mormon church, and tell them what you believe. my parents always used to invite them in for dinner and we would sit there for hours and show them all the places in the bible that discounted the mormon teachings. we actually had one of them come to church with us once. be nice, but firm. the only way to really avoid them is to not answer your door.

Tell them you're not interested...or...read Galatians 1:6-9 and then close the door.

I asked them politely several times to stop bothering me and they never listened. Until one day. I answered the door naked. They never came back. I scared them with my exhibitionistic ways.
