I will admit...I know that answer. It is found in scripture. I just want to see how much of a misconception, misunderstanding or non-understanding there really is.

I think that the majority of people think of it on too much of a humanistic level.

Let's see...

I am a Christian in the Pentecostal denomination and I'm not sure what is standard. I have read some people have the baby baptized in the hospital's chapel right away, while others may wait a few days. I am also going to ask my Pastor on Sunday but I wanted to ask now to see if anyone of my religion, or that knows of my religion may have an answer.

why did Abraham and Jacob marry their wive's handmaids to have children? Why didn't they be the man of the house and say NOOO? Any thoughts? I think its cause both couples were so desperate to have children, they stepped out of God's will.

I've read most of the Bible and I've read Dante (and Milton for that matter) and I don't recall ever seeing anything in the bible corresponding to these visions. So was he accurate or at least on the right lines?
Please limit your personal views of what Heaven and Hell are like (or whether they exist at all), as these are not relevant to the question. I'm only interested in whether the Bible and the Christian religions agree or disagree with this literary classic.

I've been fiddling with mine once a day for a couple of weeks now. It still just doesn't look quite like me. There's only, like, three decent hair styles and none of them quite fit, and the only four skin colors range from "races it would be cool to be, yet I'm not" to "the walking undead".

Am I the only one with this problem?

On a scale of 1 to 10, what's the worst crime you have ever committed? Downloading a song from limewire would be a 1, egging the house of someone you don't like would be a 2 or 3, stealing a car would be about five, selling drugs around eight and use your imagination for a 10. I'd give my worst a rating of about 7. Also, state your religion; I happen to be an atheist.

Trolls: as much as you would all like to claim to be Freddy Cougar and give graphic details of your murders, please spare us your twisted humor.

In Luke 21:25-32 Christ tells his followers about the end of the world and his pending return from heaven and then tells them that their generation would not pass away before these things happened. That was a little over 2000 years ago. Little late now is he?

The Old Testament shows the SEVERITY of G-d's judgement.... and Blessing.

New Testament shows HOW to get the Blessing and avoid the judgement. Thousands died so you and I could have a really EASY decision to make. And they are in heaven. ALL martyrs are, dont you worry about people getting killed, its the best thing that ever happened to them, ask them when you see them in heaven.

New Testamant says, "Hey you know the judgement and blessing options now...Accept Jesus or go for the judgement."

What have you done with this easy choice?

G-d's ways are not like ours. This is His way of saying "I love you...its the world's easiest decision I give you, I want you to be blessed and saved!"

Is this hard to understand? Make any sense to those who wonder about OT and NT??

Thanks and be honest....try to see it this way for one moment, I saw it the atheist way 28 years...a truly open mind can see things from a view other than their own for at least a moment I am sure, right?

Ok, so I just 'discovered' Leonard Cohen. And I LOVE his song Hallalujah. Is he a Christian singer? Like he refers to the Bible...but in a confusing way.

Also, if Aly and AJ are Christian singers how come their songs are about guys and stuff and they're never singing to God. What's with that?! If your a Christian you want to live for him and be an example and these girls (if they really are Christians) have a chance to make a difference, I mean! If I was famous I'd be talking about God in my singing or whatever! I don't get it! Please explain!

Oh, in Protecting me by Aly and AJ they talk about "You, you're always there for me When I need you most Day and night you're by my side Protecting me" But then they go on to say: "Whenever, where ever baby" --And you do NOT call God 'baby'.

If you could give me more info about them that'd be amazing!!

Having been born and raised in Iran,I have experienced the beauty of Islam in every aspect of my personal life.Yet,I could not come to terms with the tyranny of Mullahs in Iran cotrolling every aspect of your life.I decided to come to America because I wanted to practice Islam of my own free will.I am as good a muslim as I was back home.I felt like it was an insult to me to be treated like that.I was told off on the campuse for wearing jeans,I was told off by extrimist for wearing unconventional beard and so on.And what bugged me the most was I knew Islam better than those uneducated extrimists, and thay had tha moxie to put me out.

Certain Christian sects believe that their messiah will only return when the Jews accept him. Throughout history Jews have been threatened with death, torture and expulsion if they don't convert. More recently, missionaries targeted the weak of our community - the elderly, new immigrants, and the underprivileged - in an attempt to exploit their vulnerability. All these attempts have had little or no success. Whether religious or not, Jews are reluctant to give up their Jewishness.

So they came up with a new ploy. Rather than demand conversion, they offered Jews to remain Jewish, and even "complete" their Jewishness by accepting Jesus. Thus Jews for Jesus was born.

This is a movement of non-Jews who pose as Jews by taking on Jewish names. They do usually have a token Jewish member, who is invariably either ignorant of Judaism at best or psychologically imbalanced at worst. They are a sham.

So there are as many christian religions as christian believers.
It sounds to me as if this religion is really anarchic since everyone decides and interprets the message...On the other hand it is quite convenient as well because you can adapt it to your own needs
