The term SON OF GOD.........
Jesus was facing the greatest test of faith in His Life.
Nothing that we can imagine can tell us what it must have been like for the Holy Son of God to anticipate being submerged in the filth and death of sin. (Habakkuk 1:3; 2 Cor. 5:21; Hebrews 12:2)
Jesus did not look forward to the events that would culminate in His own funeral (such s it was), He knew exactly what was coming, Betrayal, Shame, Torture, Trauma, Loneliness, Thirst, DEATH.
How do we handle the great challenges to our faith? ( as Christians we are the children of God.)
Where do we turn when there is nowhere to turn?
Jesus the Son of God left an example in 1 Peter 2:21,22
Even the Son of God wanted friends around when the night ws dark. Friends were important to Jesus. (Pro. 18:24; Luke 7:34; Pro. 27:10)
Jesus the Son of God sought comfort from the Father in prayer,
( Matt. 26:39; Mark 14:36; Luke 22:44) Jesus prayed repeated to God, over and over again, through the night. Son of God was persisent. Luke 18:1-7; 2 Cor. 12:8)
As True Christians and children of God we too can pray and God hears our prayers.
Prayer is not an option for non-Christians, non-believers, but what a privilege for GOD'S Child.
God knows (Gal. 4:9) and He cares ( 1 Peter 5:7)
Christ is not only the Son HE is part of the trinity. In Gen. God made the world ...God the Father, God the Son ---we know this because in John 1:1 In the beginning was the WORD and the WORD was with God and the Word was God.
The WORD is TRUTH Jesus sid I am the WAY, the Truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me.
Jesus always WAS, He allowed himself to become lower than God, and to be sacrificed for our sins.
WE as Christians are to be CHRIST-LIKE!
This is What The term being a SON OF GOD means.

Son of Man: A term for man; human being; an apocalyptic figure; in the NT, a title for Jesus 1) In the OT 2) In Enoch--Book of enoch 3) In early Christian literature a. The Synoptic gospels b. The Gospel of John c. The heavenly man of the Pauline letters 4) Origin and development of the ideal a. Philo b. II Esdras c. Manchaean literature d. Manichean literature e. Early Gnosticism f. Relation to Judaism and Christianity In the Gospel of Mark there are two passages where in the older tradition the phrase might possibly mean a "man" --2:10 (=Matt. 9:6=Luke 5:24):" that you may know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins"; and 2:28 (=Matt.12:8=Luke 6:5): "The Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath." At the same time, even when he writes the above passages, the evangelist himself must think of "Son of man" as referring to one who is more than human; He is the exalted Lord who will come in glory. Jesus Christ.
Yahoveh's Saviour the anointed One.
But He was God in the flesh. God uses terms that we understand to express His love. So when God says He gave His only begotten Son. It is simply a expression of great love.
Plus to defeat Satan, that is death, all things had to be put under Christ. The Son inherited the Kingdom.
Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Satan no longer has the right or power to accuse anyone of his same crime. Those in Christ are free from the bondage of sin which was death.

The expression “Son of God” primarily identifies Christ Jesus. Others referred to as “son(s) of God” include intelligent spirit creatures produced by God, the man Adam before he sinned, and humans with whom God has dealt on the basis of covenant relationship. There are also references to “Sons of the true God’, which brings more into the subject.

Humans, Christians, might be considered the CHILDREN of God but Jesus is the SON of God. Read the Bible Doesn't it show God (the Father) as saying "This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased." Jesus said that He was (is) the Son of God and people refereed to Him as such.

Heb 1:1-10
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands

Well, in the context of the time in which Jesus lived "son of" meant "like", just as some apostles were called "sons of thunder", Jesus was called "Son of God". It means He is like God in attributes.
