How free is our free will if God gave it to us and can take it back at any time? We are automatons then?
" If a god exists there can be no free will. If god created you, everything surrounding you, and knows the outcome of all your decisions (as the Biblical god must, as the future is predicted) then you don't choose one solitary thing. No free will with an omniscient god, it's just common sense."

Sing out folks.

This question is being asked because of a statement made by Theophilus in another thread.

Another poster asked what we all think of agnostics. One Christian's response was this:

"I'm fine with whatever anyone believes, as long as they don't assume they are right, and I am wrong."

Being a Christian, dont you assume that you ARE right and everyone else is WRONG? Can you not see the hypocrisy openly staring you in the face with that statement?? God forbid someone assume you are wrong - but you assume everyone outside of your faith wrong....

WE arent "allowed" to have personal communications on this site, so I thought I would ask all of you for your input on this, rather than just directing it at the responder and having this deleted... Thanks for responding!

Entertainment was a necessity on the ark. No one can survive a year with absolutely zero fun.

Do you think that Noah and his family re-named all the animals or did they preserve the Adamic names? And where are those Adamic names today?

I hear many times that free will is why there are murders/rapes/thefts/etc... So if all humans had the compassion of Gandhi, would we not have free will? Could we not be kind to each other and still have the choice of following god or not? Do you believe that this is the best of all possible worlds? That it would be impossible for humans to be any other way and yet still have free will?

I know that's more than one question, but they are all of a kind, so answer as you see fit, but please try to answer what I have asked and not just "god knows what he's doing".
(atheists, please don't bother, I know, god doesn't exist, I get it, this is for believers and specifically xians)
Thank you.

Why the Christian Church and Muslim Mosque rebuild the follower’s brain with myth and fairytale stories? Why not educate the children and its followers with modern research's done by scientists and let the people know that there is NO GOD , but only a story books about a god. Why depend on an old book? What are our united human plans for 2007? Did we plan anything for the sake of nature and avoiding war against each other to save the material and life? Why the world leader’s not get united to finish it off by their powers to establish the truth?
I’m sick of this :-(

Mocks those of us with a lack of acceptance of others. Great joke:

I was walking across a bridge one day, and I saw a man standing on the edge, about to jump off. So I ran over and said "Stop! Don't do it!" "Why shouldn't I?" he said. "Well, there's so much to live for!" "Like what?" "Well... are you religious?" He said yes. I said, "Me too! Are you Christian or Buddhist?" "Christian." "Me too! Are you Catholic or Protestant ? "Protestant." "Me too! Are you Episcopalian or Baptist?" "Baptist" "Wow! Me too! Are you Baptist Church of God or Baptist Church of the Lord?" "Baptist Church of God!" "Me too! Are you original Baptist Church of God, or are you reformed Baptist Church of God?" "Reformed Baptist Church of God!" "Me too! Are you Reformed Baptist Church of God, reformation of 1879, or Reformed Baptist Church of God, reformation of 1915?" He said, "Reformed Baptist Church of God, reformation of 1915!" I said, "Die, heretic scum", and pushed him off. (Emo Philips)

And is the reason different from, lets say, the reason a dog or a cat wants to live? If so, how could it be?

Here is a situation that made me really question my beliefs about Christianity. I was raised Catholic and never missed a Sunday mass in 18 years. However, my attendance stopped after this particular event. A few years ago, my best friend's son died, he was only 3 months old. A catholic mass was held for his funeral service and our priest ACTUALLY said...."Thank God that this child was baptized before his death or he would not be with our Lord." You tell me, what could this innocent little baby have done to not deserve a place in heaven had he not been "baptized"?? Would he be in hell? This made me sick to my stomach and I never stepped foot in a church again, nor did my best friend. My question is, how can I still believe that there is a God? Especially the God that I've been taught to believe in? If it is true that her son would have gone to "hell" with baptism, then I don't want to believe in God. Tell me what you all think.

I've never understood why he (Jacob) wanted the animals to mate in front of these trees. Every Bible is a different translation, some translations say rods, some say speckled and some spotted, some even say streaked, but whichever translation, what did they have to do with it? Why did the animals face the trees to mate? I've never gotten that part? Was there supposed to be something in them? Or maybe the animals got excited over those colors? Maybe they were something like catnip is to cats?

The ISG recommends:
1 Divide Jerusalem by giving Judea & Samaria to the Palistinians.
2 Give Golan Heights to Syria.
3 Invite Iran & Syria to peace conferrence & exlude Israel.

Consider that this would put Israel at great risk.

My understanding of christianity is that god is all knowing and all powerful, and that he exists without the constraints of our time.... everywhere/always. So essentially, at the moment you are created, he/she knows your conclusion. So essentially, he/she creates you knowing whether you will go to heaven or hell because he/she sees your entire life at one moment... this also raises other questions but we'll stick with this one for now.
