I know the wind is used to make electricity.
Wind is also part of electrical storms involving thunder and lightening.

Is there any connection between the wind and the human spirit?

Will God forgive someone if they committed every sin stated in the bible.
Didn't God say forgive and you shall be forgivin?
Didn't he say that if you really want to be forgivin then ask and truely mean it that you want forgiveness?
Didn't God say he is a forgiveing God.
Didn't Jesus say forgive them for they know not what they do as he was dieing on the cross, even though these people committed murder on to Him?

Maybe I am having just a bad few weeks, months, years, I don't know. But more and more I have to wonder if there is such a love rearing God. Why is there so much pain in this world. I by far do not have a bad life, as some others do, but at times after seeing so many friends pass away, all before they turned 24, my Grandfather who meant the world to me, and just all the hell that others do. People hurting children, sufering, non stop. My other Grandpa is now on hospice. They are doing "Gods" job, right? But he is in so much pain, and it seems to never end. Why keep him here? Some times I feel that we are all just puppets on a string and God is tugging at them and laughing. I use to have so much faith, but as you grow up and really see all of THIS, how can you believe? Please I really don't want to be lectured, just thoughts and maybe some advice. Thanks.

I've been content to leave them w/ their beliefs,
but now they seem to be poised to do even worse damage, and I'm now wondering if decent people shouldn't fight back.

Rev 20:13 talks about "White Throne Judgment", which in my views simply means this:

**When you accept Jesus into your heart, you win a ticket to Heaven, no matter what. It's a free ticket.
**When you don't accept Jesus, you'll go to the "White Throne Judgment" and God will judge you on your works, your deeds.

Whether my views are correct or not, doesn't even matter. There are two options: God is moral and accepts good people or God is amoral.

If there is a God, then the only two choices for us atheists are acceptance by a moral god or refusal by an immoral god.

Assuming that nobody wants to spend eternity with an immoral god, then if the second one is true, hell (i.e. far from the immoral god) is the better place to be...

And no, I'm not an atheist who "is afraid of hell, blah, blah blah"...I'm just tired of Pascal's Wager.

Recently my girlfriend and i visited a very old graveyard here in my hometown in newfoundland. Most of the people buried there passed away in the late 1700's to the early 1800's .We came across this one large headstone with a large skull and crossbones on it,We both thought that was very strange ,It was the first time we saw a headstone like that,The person passed away in 1787 ,We was just wondering if there is any meaning behind this .

There are over 100 verses in the Koran that i have which commands jihad & to murder to get into paradise,so if a Muslim does not die in jihad as a martyr how do they or moderest (those who don't go to jihad at all) Muslims get to their paradise ? Even Muhammads first successor Abu Bakr was worried that he would not go to paradise because he didn't die in jihad, even though he fought loyaltly in jihad !

I was born a catholic, was raised to beleive everything the bible taught me word for word and when I was in high school something so contrary happened it made me forever skeptical. It was simply for me was when I asked my teacher who was a priest why does it not make sense to me that Adam and Eve had two children who were both males yet the bible never mentions any other women and he replied matter of factly to say Jesus spoke in parables and you shouldn't take everything literally word for word, they are all just stories afterall. I was litterally stunned because up until that point I was taught by every catholic teacher and priest that I was supposed to accept the bible as fact. I was also taught that a priest was to be held in the highest regard and I do not think I have to go into details about that one, so how does one have faith after realizing everything was one big lie............

Ok, here is the entire story before I ask the question because you need this to make your decision. My uncle, two years ago, died on January 16th. The second anniversary of his death is coming up, and for about a month before his death, he was in the hospital. He had a bunch of stuff wrong with him, but the main thing was pancreatitis. That's what landed him there. He also had liver problems. He was the uncle I was closest to and could literally talk to about anything. I've been having a very hard time lately, one of many since his death, and was thinking about him among the three people lost that year (one to brain cancer and one to sudden stroke). This is going to sound weird, but the light in my hallway started flickering and flashing neurotically. I had just left it and was in the bedroom where my husband and daughter were. I looked at it, and for some reason I am not very sure of, said "Ok Uncle Jimmy". The moment after I said that, it stopped. Is this him or what?

"Jewish, Christian, and Islamic Fundamentalists have long been waging a “culture war” with the Western world’s concepts of justice, science, democracy, and pluralism, which they refer to as “the Forces of Evil.” It is well past time for liberal, moderate, and even conservative Jews, Muslims, Christians, Neopagans, Unitarian Universalists, Atheists, Agnostics, and everyone else who isn’t a religious fanatic, to start consciously fighting back against deliberate ignorance, religious bigotry, and sanctified violence — that is to say, against Fundamentalism.

As I said before, it is time to take effective action to “contain, subvert, and dethrone Fundamentalism wherever and whenever it oppresses its own and other peoples.” What does this mean? To begin with,

Reconstructionist, Reform, Conservative, and secularized Jews have to stop respecting those Orthodox and Hasidic Jews (at home and abroad) who advocate violence against non-Jews in Israel, who attempt to revoke the civil liberties...
