--this mystical stupor that threatens to cause even more hatred and killing in the world?
I've been content to leave them w/ their beliefs,
but now they seem to be poised to do even worse damage, and I'm now wondering if decent people shouldn't fight back.

Arily666--It was probably a poor choice of words, but I believe all can be moral and ethical w/o religion and therefore"decent".

David T---Isn't that exactly what Bible-thumpers have been doing for years, and hasn't this been the basis for so much hatred?

Earl D-- I'm sure you must have had some idea of what you wanted to say while you were still sober.

If you were trying to say something clever, I'm afraid you don't have the proper equipment for that challenge.

We should at least show the world that there's nothing wrong with shedding superstition and myth. We need to make ourselves heard.

Yes, take the battle to them and show them how ridiculous their beliefs are - constantly and without mercy. Destroy religion with ridicule, it shouldn't be difficult with all the material that's out there.

A friend of mine had a great idea a few years ago, and that was to place full-page ads in several newspapers (he had the money) demanding to know if Christians could be considered to be good citizens and patriots. This was inspired by Bush I's comment that atheists could not be either, which was never apologized for as far as I know. I've despised that bigot ever since, and thought no one could be worse until his son came along to single-handedly trash America's reputation around the world.

Exactly. Saying nothing just means they'll be unopposed while trying to force their views on us through legislation.
