As cited from http://positiveatheism.org/hist/quotes/qframe.htm

"The founders of our nation were nearly all Infidels, and that of the presidents who had thus far been elected [Washington; Adams; Jefferson; Madison; Monroe; Adams; Jackson] not a one had professed a belief in Christianity...."

-- The Reverend Doctor Bird Wilson, an Episcopal minister in Albany, New York, in a sermon preached in October, 1831. One might expect a modern defender of the Evangelical to play with the meaning of "Christianity," making it refer only to a specific brand of orthodoxy, first sentence quoted in John E Remsberg, "Six Historic Americans," second sentence quoted in Paul F Boller, George Washington & Religion, pp. 14-15

Solomon is said to have had 800 wives and 300 concubines. Correct me if I am wrong. What made this guy so special that he needed more than the ordinary person? he lived after Moses so he knew God's standard. Additionally, with all his wisdom, why was it so difficult for him to decide which wife was best for him? Concubines are out of the question especially since he had so many wives already.

In other words, can a god who supposedly has the power to do literally anything and knows literally everything, including what he himself is going to do, change his mind about what he is going to do in the future? Richard Dawkins presented this question in his book The God Delusion. I was wondering what others thought about it.

At the time of death, it is important to have lived a moral life and have love in your heart.

It seems that is our foundation for dying.

Do all religions basically say this?

How can god send some one to hell for being gay? I mean I have some friends that are just GAY!!! and they have always been. How can God not love them for being this way. Most people are gay from the time that they are old enough to know what liking some one feels like. Besides... how can I trust what the bible says. It was written by MAN!! and MAN cannot be TRUSTED! Besides King James threw out A LOT of the books that he didn't think should be put in. So I just want to know I guess how can people say that a gay person is going to hell. and How can God send them there for being something they cannot help?

even if you think your way is THE WAY. Isn't it best to know "your enemies". You can't know your religion is the only one unless you know the others are wrong. And the only non-ignorant way to do that is to learn about others.

To those who refuse to explore other religions, and don't have a reason why, don't you find that your arguments are probably a little weak in presenting your care that your religion is THE ONE? I mean, can you actually have an educated debate with me on religions of the world, or just a one sided conversation about how "right" yours is?

Isn't learning to your benefit, just like the rest of us?

Islam on WOMEN :

Actually, Islam seems pretty cool...from an ignorant insecure beta males point of view.

“(Muhammad) EVIL omen is ONLY in three: a horse, a WOMAN and a house."” http://www.islamicity.com/mosque/sunnah/

“”The Prophet said, "Isn't the witness of a WOMAN EQUAL TO HALF OF THAT OF A MAN?" The women said, "YES." He said, "This is because of the DEFICIENCY OF A WOMAN'S MIND."” http://www.islamicity.com/mosque/sunnah/

“The Prophet said, "After me I have not left any AFFLICTION MORE HARMFUL TO MEN THAN WOMEN."”http://www.islamicity.com/mosque/sunnah/

If you haven't, why not?
