But they are complete opposites. Should people kill or not?

Thou shalt not kill - but it seems ok if God does. I think the only sanctioned killing in the bible was done by God or someone God told to do it, right?

Peace!

Exodus is nothing more than an entire book about how many people are to be killed for God!

Exodus 35:2-

"For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death."

So every Sunday, all Christians are in direct violation of the bible in one of two ways:

1. They follow Exodus 35:2 and kill everyone at Starbuck's, Village Inn, Wal-Mart, etc. and break the 6th Commandment, or

2. They disobey the word of God as put forth in Exodus 35:2 and are doomed to eternal damnation according to their own rules.

Either way, God sure likes killing!

The exact wording is: "Thou shalt not commit murder." As stated in Ecclesiastics, there is a time for everything, including a time to kill and a time to heal. Killing in defense of self, family, or country is not murder. Killing someone just to gain their wealth, wife or other THINGS is. YBIC

Death is the punishment for nearly every sin. Murder, rape, talking back to your parents, working on the Sabbath, Blasphemy. God apparently liked killing people. He did kill over 2.2 MILLION(according to the Bible, but it is fiction after all)

Genesis 9:6

Whoso sheddeth man's blood,
by man shall his blood be shed:
for in the image of God made He man.

For years I spoke against Capital Punishment until I read God's word.

Exodus 21:12
He that smiteth a man, so that he die,
shall be surely put to death.

If it is premeditated murder, God allows putting the murderer to death.

Murder (Exodus 20)- pre-meditated act
Killing- accidental (car accident) or through the justice system God has given government the authority to uphold law & protect people. Part of that responsibility is to punish crimanals & to put to death those who destroy human life, because life is sacred(Romans 13).

Thou shalt not kill.

Unless it's some idol-worshipping non-Christian who refuses to convert.

Then kill them in the name of God.
