Has anyone ever gone to see one and was it true? Tell me about it. I really want to go see one. I'm soooo confused.... trying to get out of this relationship but it's so hard... I can't trust anyone and to make it worst it's the holidays. Not saying I'm going to go tomorrow, but I'm considering going soon. So did it work for YOU?

I fail to understand, isn't following your heart the most important factor in life? or is it better to 'give in' to the a set of rules 'just in case'?

I am not quite a practicing christian though I believe in the basic principles and beliefs of christianity. However lately, as a result of my father being a Theravada Buddhist (not practicing though), I have been studying more and more about buddhism and really love the concepts and beliefs on how to live everyday life. My problem is, I'm so rooted in christianity that I am torn on whether I can do both or if I'll need to just choose one.

"Upon graduation I was a professor in a Baptist college and for 10 years I taught Greek, English Bible, Theology, Church History, and Apologetics. It was then I began to have my first doubts about the validity of my faith. The more I studied and the more I thought, the less I believed. I finally came to the conclusion that all religions are man-made and represent wishful thinking on the part of the believers. All of us want to think that there is some meaning in life and that we will see our loved ones again. Religion offers simple answers to those and other deep questions.
One of the major stumbling blocks was the whole concept of the atonement. How could someone else be punished in my place and I go free? That strikes against any sense of fairness. We would not allow that in any court of law. Punishment is only valid if it is the guilty person being punished. I have read every major theologian's discussion of the atonement and I have never been satisfied by the various answers."

Do christians have an innate tendency to be tempted toward crime or is it that people with a tendency toward crime seek comfort in christ thinking that they will be absolved of their sins just by accepting a name though deeds hardly match? I'm not christian and and i'm not tempted toward bad things!

Why do really offensive, ludacrous questions get posted here?
But I ask a serious, straightfoward question and it gets deleted? The question was simply as follows: "Why do Christians go about labeling people as evil?" But it's okay for mock spongebob to ask where Squidwards panties are? What is this, the twilight zone?

I'm doing a play with Mormons and need to familiarize myself with them.

1) What are Mormon Church practices similar to Catholics'? Do Latter Day Saint Mormons recieve the Eucharist?

2) Do they drink coffee and alcohol?

3) Do Mormons have pastors who can marry?

4) Do Mormons use Christian prayers such as: "Bless us O Lord, and these thy gifts, Which we are about to receive, from thy bounty, Through Chirst, Our Lord. Amen?" Are there other more popular meal prayers that they use?

5) What do Mormon Church pastors wear for Christmas Mass? Do they have mass on Christmas Eve?

6) Do Mormons do the sign of the cross?

7) Are there Mormon communities or churches in NYC and New Jersey?
Thanks!

I asked a question in here previously about following Jesus's example without actually reading the bible and being a christian and I was immediately attacked. I was told 'no, you cannot, because you have to know he died for your sins so you can know him personally'......yea? really? So Jesus only died to remind us forever that he died for us and that he needs to be glorified? Following his example, helping people comes second? Am I missing something here?

I feel it's more or less that these people's personal feelings overstretching their boundaries. In their minds, 'hey, I don't get to do what i want to do because the bible is my guide, no way you get to get away with stuff and get into heaven'. Its rather obvious human nature in my opinion. "If I have to live uncomfortably to get into heaven, so will you." People don't want to watch someone freely and enjoyably do what they are restricted from get into heaven with them, they feel they should be rewarded for their loyalty.

Whats your reason for seeing your example as a "moral downward spiral".
My answer-I would say between 1840 and 1929. Big Business Tycoons and then the Market Crash. But Im sure there are better answers than mine.

I have been in and out of the Wiccan belief becuase I was born a Mormon. I have studied and learned from the Wiccans. However, something doesn't sit right with me. I have noticed that some of the Wiccans have the Pentagram upside down, like as Satanic, what does that represent? Is it banishing? Because I thought it was that you belive more in the power of Fire and Air..?

I got a tattoo on my arm when I was young, 15, and I started going to this church a couple of years later and they told me a that my tattoo was a contract with Satan. It made me feel like it was not worth it to even bother. I was wondering if getting a tattoo sends a person to Hell?
