Through his courage, Reeve was able to move more than one toe, even more than mountains. Much more.
Christopher Reeve was a Unitarian Universalist.

Faith really is a huge factor in anything, and it doesnt even have to be faith in God. I do believe that faith can do mighty things but it is so easy to lose faith because of what we see. I dont know Chris' religious back ground and wont assume whether he was a great man of faith or not but I consider myself to have strong faith, but I can't seem to apply it to everything. For one thing, faith is the substance of things hoped for, and hope has to involve a little doubt for it to be hope and not a gaurentee, the less you doubt, the better it works, but, sometimes its hard not to doubt and Id think in a case like Chris Reeves, it puts a lot of stress on anyones faith.

Faith does exist. Just because you ask for something doesn't mean that God will answer just the way you think he will. While Chris was alive, many advances in science were made to help those with spinal injuries. I think in the grander scheme of things, Chris' accident was paramount to getting things moving in that science.
I believe God gives us the capacity to learn and discover, and much has been done in this area. God doesn't just lay down the answer to every question we have, we have to earn the answers.
Maybe someday, people with spinal injuries won't have to live for ever like that due to all the great things that were accomplished due to Chris and his wife and all the good works they did in trying to come up with a cure. We will just have to wait and see.

Yes faith does exist, yes we CAN move mountians. But that doesnt mean that everything we ask God to do for us he's going to do. If we do have faith, then we will be okay when our prayers get answered with a "no" or a "maybe later" answer. You can't expect God to always say yes.

Obviously a mustard seed will not move a mountain. You injure the spinal cord and you are SOL!

It has to be faith in God, not in your ability to move the toe. You have no power of your own, even your every breath is a gift... though you do not know it.

How much money did Mr. Reeve donate to the study of quadriplegia? Do you think he would've donated it if he hadn't been paralyzed?
Good comes from tragedy.
