I got a tattoo on my arm when I was young, 15, and I started going to this church a couple of years later and they told me a that my tattoo was a contract with Satan. It made me feel like it was not worth it to even bother. I was wondering if getting a tattoo sends a person to Hell?

Get out of that Church if you are still going there. That is a silly belief and it is NOT biblical. If my tattoos keep me in bondage to the enemy then the blood of Christ isn't worth anything and His word is a lie. If you are born-again then you are good to go. That doesn't give you license to just get any tattoo you want though. Use common sense when looking at tattoos (if considering). Anything unbliblical in nature is foolishness. When I became a Christian, I got a beautiful cross in the center of my back to counter the pagan symbolism of my other tats. I was not convicted about it. I have no regrets. My spirit was at peace with it. Guess what? I am still saved and on the right path.
God bless!

When you got your tattoo was Satan present or did Satan give you the tattoo? Did you make an agreement with Satan before hand that you would get a tattoo? If you answered "no," then your tattoo is not a contract with Satan. Many people get tattoo do no even believe Satan exists. Tattoos go back thousands of years, even before Christianity became a religion.
There is only one sentence that has to do with tattoos in the HB/OT. Leviticus 19:28 states, "'Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD." It doesn't say anything about Satan or a contract. Actually, as long as your tattoo wasn't "for the dead" you should be okay.

Almost everything in this world sends a person to hell. The good thing is that it's been predetermined before you were even born. More than likely, when you die, you'll be just another of the 50 million annually that are going to hell. Whatever you do, you are bound to commit some sort of infraction and go to hell. This is because the rules sometimes contradict themselves; follow one, break another. That's why many say only 144,000 are going to heaven. See ya in hell. I'll be the guy talking to Gandhi and Einstein.

During the first century of Christianity it was customary for Christians to tattoo a small cross on the webbing of their hands between the thumb and the forefinger. It was a sign of their true faith because at that time anyone caught with a cross was arrested.
So, no. Whoever told you that is only trying to frighten you, and apparently has.
You might consider finding a more tolerant church.

I'm sorry you faced that in church. There are Old Testament laws against receiving marks on your body that would identify you with another god, but there is no timeless principle that tattoos will keep you out of Heaven. I suppose if you tattooed a contract with Satan and signed it with the ink pen, then that would be different (ha, ha).
Admittance to Heaven is based on faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ alone.

Nah, you're not going to hell because of your tattoo...however, long ago in some far off time having tattoos could denote your status in society; believe it or not I'm not talking recent history either...A king would tattoo or brand his slaves, Hitler tattooed Jews and still in some foreign countries scarring, tattooing and branding are still practiced. People have been marking themselves in some way, shape or form for religious beliefs, personal reasons and to show prominence for centuries.

NO, what a load of crap! Tattoos are a form of expression not part of a religion.
Unless, you have a tattoo that says 'I love Satan' then I think you are pretty safe.
If you don't feel love from that church then I recommend switching churches. God doesn't judge on what we look like.

I'm not sure what church you went to, but that certainly isn't the case. Tattoos are a form of self-expression. I personally have three and each one has a very specific meaning for me. Not one of them has anything to do with going against God or forming a contract with Satan. I'd suggest you look for a different church.

No - tattoos are not contracts with satan, and they do not send you to hell. Find a new church - preferably one that is not fundamentalist.
Not that tattoos are a good idea...
