How are the stores I described in my last question any differant from stores that only recognize Christmas?

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061209092802AAvWWiz&r=w

Some of you said that you would not shop in a store that only recognized Hanukkah or Yule, but you almost demand that stores ONLY recognize Christmas.

How is this fair?

them, and they follow me. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand" (John 10:26-28). Do you hear the voice of the Good Shepherd? One can be "religious" but that does not mean that your sins have been paid for. Many people go to church but church membership does not make you saved. In fact, Revelation 18:4 tells the sheep to leave the churches which have become Babylon. Jesus also said, "If any man have ears to hear, let him hear." God is not speaking of "physical ears" because everyone has ears. The Lord is speaking of "spiritual ears", which He has given to those who are born again or redeemed. They hear the Lord and obey His commandments.

I believe in one god but I can not find any reason to confine myself to a religion. in other hand, religions cause wars and conflicts among people and it is the worst part of the story.
Now, my question is this:
Why one should dedicate himself to a religion?

What about one that only recognized Hanukkah?

I'm just curious about this. I am a baptist and people seem to not like us. Why is it that you don't like baptists? Is it something personal or just something that has been passed down to you? And if you do like baptists... why? I would just like to know why.

What is the overall view of Christian Internet dating?
It has now become one of the most popular and convenient ways for christians of this generation to meet and date. However is it right? is it safe? Can we really meet the partner God intends for us or are we open to being conned? I would love to hear your views and experiences...

If someone truly did not believe, then nothing a Christian tells them about the Christian faith woud be upsetting to them. A true atheist would be totally indifferent about it.

If it's not a fair statement, why do you say,

"Every evil person that claims to be a Christian is really an Atheist"

Hey everyone, I just have a quick question for Catholic followers:

I just dont understand how I have to confess my sins through a priest. Shouldn't I just confess them directly to God, since He is the one that actually does the forgiving, not the priest? The Bible says that everyone is equal in the eyes of God. I am wondering why there are people that are presented to be better than I am to God, and THEY have to pray for MY forgiveness??? It just doesn't make sense.

The bible talks about Saul, and how he became a Christian after persecuting them for years. He didnt pray to someone else, but he cried out to the Heavens in confession himself. Are you denying that Saul (later known as Paul) was not truly saved because of not confessing through a priest?

I want to clarify that I am not bashing Priests, nor the Catholic faith here, just simply asking what makes some people better that I to God.

Keith Ellison from Minnesota whose election to the House will make him the first Muslim in Congress, plans to take his oath of office on Islam's holy book, the Koran,

He is not not be the first member of Congress to forgo a Bible. Rep. Debbie Schultz (D-Fla.) took her oath in 2005 on a Tanakh, the Hebrew Bible. In 1825, John Quincy Adams took the presidential oath using a law volume instead of a Bible, and in 1853, Franklin Pierce affirmed the oath rather than swearing it.

Congressman-elect Ellison has been criticized for his decision and some have said he should not be allowed to take his oath on the Koran.

What are your thoughts?
