I believe in one god but I can not find any reason to confine myself to a religion. in other hand, religions cause wars and conflicts among people and it is the worst part of the story.
Now, my question is this:
Why one should dedicate himself to a religion?

You shouldn't necessarily.

You don't need religion. No one needs religion. What people need is God (Jesus). God is not religion even though people think so. People believe that you have to go to church to be saved, and that is absolutely false. We need to pray to Jesus and ask Him into our lives, and confess our sins. We all have sins. Have you ever lied? That is a sin. Once we do that Jesus will forgive us, and we will have everlasting life. We will be able to go to heaven and be with the Lord. This is not religion. This is christianity, and they are totally seperate from each other. Once we are Christian, we should get together with other Christians because in the bible it says something like don't give up meeting together. Still this is not religion, it's just a get-together. There are cohorts (groups) that get together, and talk about God. I haven't gone to one yet, but I am planning on going to one. They are called Emergent. You can find them online at http://www.emergentvillage.com/. This is their official website. Good Luck!

Who ever suggested that you "should" do any such thing? You live (I guess) in a country that specifically protects your individual right to believe - or not believe in - whatever you choose to.
You are never going to GET a clear and unequivocal answer to the question you asked, because the answers you get are going to be the personal opinion of that individual, based entirely on what HE happens to think and believe. That is what "Freedom of Religion" means - the right of each and every individual to make up his own mind about what he wants to believe in. Not all, but the overwhelming majority of people believe the way they do as adults because of the indoctrination they got when they were very young, and their brains were like sponges that sopped up whatever was fed into them. It gets hardwired in there, so by the time they become adults, they can't even distinguish between what they actually, personally, decided for themselves, and what has been conditioned in there. We are ALL "conditioned" to a certain extent during those early formative years of life.... by our parents, the family, in school, in church, the general community, and the culture in which we were born and raised. But some of us - I believe the minority, but also the luckiest, somehow managed to escape from that conditioning later, when we got to be adults. Something inside our own minds demanded to know WHY -and when we didn't get any answer, we asked ourselves and discovered one...... The question could not be answered because those being asked didn't have one. All they knew was what they, themselves, had indoctrinated into them when THEY were young. And most of the time it went along with being instructed NOT to question anything. "You must just BELIEVE' their parents and family told them, "because WE are right, and everybody else is wrong".
My favorite saying is that every single human being, at the end of the day, has the inalienable right to be the owner of his OWN mind, and the master of his own thinking and believing.

You should not dedicate yourself to a religion. You are correct, religion divides people and is counter-productive to the progress of civilization.

Your next step is to eliminate god. god is an imaginary being. I think it makes some people feel good to believe in an all-powerful being who takes care of them, but this being does not exist. Belief without proof allows people to justify anything, including running planes into buildings. Just say "no" to god!

Read the Bible, and take note of what Jesus said would be the identifying mark of true Christianity.

Most notable is John 13:34, 35 "I am giving YOU a new commandment, that YOU love one another; just as I have loved YOU, that YOU also love one another. By this all will know that YOU are my disciples, if YOU have love among yourselves.”

That, plus the command to "love your neighbour as yourself" discounts all religions who go to war. You cannot love your neighbour and kill him. That narrows it down to religions who refuse to get involved in war. The list is quite short. On the top of the list you'll find Jehovah's Witnesses.

And to those who say you don't need to go to church, read Hebrews 10:24, 25. It says "And let us consider one another to incite to love and fine works, not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as YOU behold the day drawing near."

I believe in God and am not religious also. I feel as though i have a personal relationship with god as many others do. I DO NOT however believe in the bible or any other religious book and that is why i am not religious. I and you are considered spiritual and don't know why anyone would join a religious group. They do nothing but tell you what you should and should not do.But any descent person knows not to kill, lie, or cheat so that book is worthless to me.

People think that they need to be part of a religion because they have been lied to and told that God picks favorites.

The idea that God is more pleased with one particular way of expressing our love for him/her over all others is nonsense. I simple lie that people tell about God.

Actually you can have a far closer relationship with God without these lies that religion tells.

Love and blessings Don

No one has to dedicate themselves to any religion. I'm a UU - Unitarian Universalist. I'm more Unitarian, because I believe in God but not so much in the inherant worth and dignity of every human...
If you feel like you have a relationship with God and can talk with him anywhere you want, you don't have to seek out a religion. I think 'religion' is more for people who want to participate in group activites with like minded people.

God is not about religion! God sent his only son to earth to die on the cross, rise again so that your sin, my sin, can be forgiven. You will find the proof of this in the Bible...God's Word. The Gospels...Matthew, Mark, Luke and John will tell you of the Good News of Jesus Christ.
To dedicate your life to believing in Jesus is to assure your spot in heaven eternally...it is the only way!
There is nothing wrong with studying everything you can to come to your own conclusion...and it must be just that....YOUR own conclusion. Noone else can do it for you.
I pray that God blesses your spiritual journey!
Merry Christmas!

Religion is not the same as Faith in God & Jesus Christ.
Religion divides humans Christ will united them.
Picking a place to worship(aka Religion) is important & helpfully, but the Belief in God & Christ is the most important things of all.
Blessed be

Your right. I feel the same way too. I believe that we have our God and he takes care of us. We are our own church. I give my God credit for all the good in my life and I don't beleive we need a religion to accomplish this.
