I think that there is a lot of Christian charity work going on in Africa and South America and I believe that they ask you to become Christian to receive the benefit of the church. I think that over all people are moving away from organized religion and heading toward a more personalized spiritual path. Some realize that you can do it within the religions, but I think many feel you must be seperate from an organization that you don't agree with 100%.

Peace!

Christianity is the fastest growing around the world, in that the God of Christianity is moving in a powerful way.

In Americal, the Lord is telling Prophets of blessing us special this Christmas. And the new year is a breakthrough each month and debt free by the end of the year for many. It depends on being given Grace to receive from God.

It is also true that the Western world is small in number according to the population of the world. A large number that God is going to bless (of the world) are the impoverished majority (poor woman & children).

It might be that peoples hearts are turning to the widows and orphans, etc... and keeping self from sinful living. Because it is written that this is true and undefiled religion before our Heavenly Father.

About 33% of the world's population regard themselves as Christian. This percentage has been stable for decades. (The second most popular religion is Islam, which is expected to become the dominant religion of the world during the 21st century.) 87% of North Americans identify themselves as Christian. This has been dropping very slowly in recent years, mainly due to the sudden increase in non-theists, such as Agnostics, Atheists, Humanists, etc. Other factors are the increase in minority religions, largely caused by immigration and the emergence of new spiritual/religious movements like New Age, Wicca and other Neopagan religions.

Hm... I dunno.

The only thing I can think of is how science is advancing, which may put some Christian beliefs in question or cause some passages in the Bible to become obsolete (a.k.a. made "symbolistic," such as Adam and Eve).

But I am interested in where you were told that it was decreasing- I never noticed that it was. Was there a survey or census done on the subject?

Because more and more people are following the "Do whatever you want- there are no rules" way of thinking. They don't want anyone telling them that what they're doing is wrong- they want no boundaries. Satan makes sin look really attractive- and people fall for it all the time. Why do you think Christianity is being attacked the way it is? Christians are spreading the truth and people can't stand it because God is convicting them. If we weren't stepping on their toes, they wouldn't be so busy criticizing us. The bit dog barks loudest. America is a greedy, lazy country. No one wants to have any self-discipline. (And yes, I live in America- I have all of my life)

The number os superstitous people in America is dropping like a stone! Reality is setting in and people are realizing that fantasy Gods are work of fiction not reality!

In Africa and south America they are still very superstitious and perhaps not as educated! As a persons education level rises the delusion of God dies!

Because they think the war is wrong and they think Christians are represented by the U.S.A government.
And they also see Hollywood. And think that's the way Americans and Christians live.
Also if you look at religion & Spiritually you will often see the question. Why do Christians think they are better than anyone else, they are brainwashed against us. They believe we think this when we dont.

I didn't realize it was, but perhaps it's because some people are beginning to realize that religion is keeping human development to a minimum. I hope that one day all mass organized religion is left out of public view. It would be best if people would leave it to themselves, but better if they recognized that humans society would be better off without any religion. It divides us and drives us into war.

My church has been on a steady incline for 20 years... There are 3,500 members now 250 over last year, 1,100 over the year 2000. If one church closes, it doesnt mean another one isnt increasing.
