Since Abrahams Wife could not have children she offered up her maid to father his children right? And if so why did God reward such behavior? It does not seem very moral to me.

what characteristics people are given at birth? For example if they are hideously ugly, mentally retarded...I know god makes everyone beautiful in their own way. But it seems god has made these people 'beautiful' in a way that would make their life hell. How does god decide who to give bad characteristics (or should I say, characteristics less commonly accepted as positive by the 99.999 percent of the general population) that can't be changed at birth? Does he roll dice? I know this is only a short life before our eternal life in heaven but it seems it is still unfair as some people have short/good life before eternal happyness and others have short/bad life before eternal happyness. I don't get it...

I'm 18 years old, and my entire family are Christians...Zealots
that think everything is the Devil. They wouldn't pay for me to get into a regular college b/c they claim it can have bad influences towards me and they INSIST I go to a Christian college, which I have not looked into, b/c I will not do it! I'm an Agnostic and they don't accept my opinions or beliefs and they are always trying to get me to do things they know I don't wanna do. And I have this boyfriend who is 25 and they hate him just b/c of his age! He has said he is going to help me get out of there as he is looking for a place for me and him right now. But that can take all of 6 weeks or so. How do I deal w/ these freaks in the meantime? They are driving me INSANE!!!!!!!

Could you all pray for me that I get to go to high school in my hometown? I love my hometown, all my friends and family are here. I really don't want to leave it!I love it so much here, I could cry right now...I've lived here for so long, there's no other place where I would want to live.
Also pray that I get into this high school I've been interested in for so long...Please. It would really mean a lot to me.

I have 3children but when my husband and I found out I was pregnant again shortly after I had our 3rd child he wanted me to have an abortion and I did. I have asked for forgiveness and I know what I did was wrong but will God forgive me???
I may be pregnant again and I know my husband will not want this child either, so he may want me to have another abortion. Would I be forgiven a 2nd time?? Help..!!

I see it all the time. Maybe because I live in the Bible-belt where people seem a little to extreme. People coming out of church mimicing what their minister said. Almost nobody looks anything or finds out for themselves. I especially think that this is the problem with misunderstanding other religions or denominations. People thinking that their own group is "good" and going to heaven and everyone else is "bad" and going to hell unless converted. So, are people just to lazy to find out for themselves?

I'm confused. When someone dies, everyone says, I know they're going to a better place. But when reading the bible I understood it to say that no person will enter heaven until they are judged on judgement day, and judgement day won't be until the rapture. Am I mixed up, or do people just tell the mourning that about going to a better place to make them feel better? If those that have died aren't in Heaven, where are they? Would this explain ghosts and such? Please be kind, I'm kinda new to religion. I'm just curious about other's thoughts on this.

I've been told that Jesus said the kingdom of heaven is within. Is this true? Does it say it in the bible? If it is true, why is it that Christians believe heaven is somewhere you hope to go after you die? Do you believe that you go within after you die? (Please explain logically)

Maybe he read parts of the Bible that he didn't like, and said Oh No I will keep that part out. And who thinks that the Bible is just a way for our parents and priests to make us do what they want. Example: If your not good Santa won't bring you anything for Christmas, If your not good the Easter Bunny won't leave you any candy, If your not good you won't fet into Heaven, etc....

If it is about comparing things like (for history world) civilizations or religions etc. Also does anyone know if in Judiasm if there God loves all of us like the Christian God , or is it like Allah in Islam?

Shouldn't we let them make their own choices when they are older? I mean, if parents babtise their baby, then when they are older, they let the child choose what to believe, what was the point in baptism? I personally think the parents should wait till the child is older so the child can make their own choice.

I'm sorry, I was just wondering. If you think about people individually, of course the answer is no.

But (and religious people I'm sure know what I'm getting at) - is that suicide beneficial to the "bigger" picture of how people deal with that tragedy and think about the afterlife?

I don't mean to advocate suicide, but they say everything happens for a reason.... I take that to mean there was a purpose for it to happen that way.

What do people think? Please, if you don't have something constructive to say, don't say it at all.
