Why do atheists waste their time on internet forums dedicated to religion and spirtuality? Is atheism a cult?

They are trying to convince themselves that they really don't believe. I don't think it's a cult, but rather a weird way to attract attention. Most other religious people do not run around telling all that they meet, what their beliefs are. I say each to his own! Try having an "athiest" tell you why they believe the way they do.....The answer is usually very long and drawn out.

Well when some countrys population is 85% atheist I think its a bit big to call a cult! However just because people dont believe doesnt mean they dont like to learn and understand. The best way to do that is by asking questions. I'm Pagan and would never change my religion but I love learning about other cultures and religions etc etc, whats wrong with that?

How will you ever learn not to be judgmental if you don`t know what you are talking about .
You should call your site " The Blind conversing with the Deaf ."
That is a site that benefits neither side as you wanted .
We are here to ask questions and learn.
Granted there are some antagonistic Atheists on here but they equal the hateful and condescending Christians askers .

I have gone over your Q & A's expecting to find your some kind of heartless religious nut, but that is not the case, some of your answers are very insightfull. So why the consentration on athiests? If anything a deeply religious person should care about all and comfort their own. I think you think an athiest is someone who worships satin, and if so you are very stupid: I wouldn't try not to spark up any of your questions in a NORMAL socal setting, if you care about what intelegent people think of your mindset.

WHY does this idiotic question get asked pretty much every day?

As someone else mentioned in another topic, when you do the "ask" thing, and you type in your question, Yahoo Answers lets you know if similar questions have been asked before. And you can even click on those questions and read the answers.

So my question is, WHY don't people read the previous answers to similar questions?

What do y'all think - short attention span?

Thinking that asking again and again and again will result in different answers?

Or something else?

Without Atheists(Ido not know their beliefs)this forum be without its spice and curry. Left with members outdoing each other in mutual praises. Atheists must stay here. It is a forum for sharing of knowledge. Atheism is not a cult. They have no Organisation. They are a GROUP of likeminded persons.

Why do you assume its a waste? Religion harms the world in many ways. If a post on a message board makes one religious person question what they believe, the world is a better place.

No, we're not a cult. Why do you ask? .... OH! Okay i get it, you figure that we all say the wrong thing towards the "religion that saves" under "god".... Well, here's how i see it. I'm tired of those idiots in the street holding signs saying "prepare for the day of the return of Jesus christ, god almighty..." which god? there's tons of them! (sorry I'm pagan, but the atheists are my friends too) I am also tired of Mormons and Jehova's Witnesses trying to force me into their religion. That gets the most irritating.

Atheism is a form of madness, egotism, self-centeredness, self adulation and total ingratitude to a Creator. They are justifying all their wickedness and sinfulness by denying the existence of God. Atheism is simply the work of the devil and they are trying to convert more souls to eternal condemnation. Atheism is a candy coated poison to your very well being mentally, emotionally and especially spiritually.
Atheism is a movement by the devil to attract more followers to go to hell. Atheists believe they came from nothing and thus will return to nothing. Very true, as this will be their reward.after their life here on Earth.
I do not understand their arrogance, they behave as if they do not have navels and just popped out of the ground or a test tube at their own will when they came to existence. They behave as if they can control their own heartbeat at their own will. They behave as if they are not ruled by the law of time or the law of gravity.
They think they are much superior to the "giver of life".
All these are easier said than done. They think they are so smart that they practically have dysfunctional brains.
Well, excuse me, but they are just passengers on planet Earth, and they cannot defy, hijack, or kidnap the Captain of the ship to bow down to their warped minds..

Athiest are supposed to be non-believers of God but according to what I see..they seem to believe something, coz obviously they have a argument against this supreme being. How can you argue agaisnt something that does not exist to you? An athiest Im sure deep down believes in a God, otherwise they would not be intrested enough to take a stand against it..LOL They are funny people! This was a awesome question, and I do think they need to make up a new word for Athiest! There really is no true athiest believer..not one I have ever met...lol..And YES it is a awfull cult...and unbelievably a "sad" one....
