I'm 18 years old, and my entire family are Christians...Zealots
that think everything is the Devil. They wouldn't pay for me to get into a regular college b/c they claim it can have bad influences towards me and they INSIST I go to a Christian college, which I have not looked into, b/c I will not do it! I'm an Agnostic and they don't accept my opinions or beliefs and they are always trying to get me to do things they know I don't wanna do. And I have this boyfriend who is 25 and they hate him just b/c of his age! He has said he is going to help me get out of there as he is looking for a place for me and him right now. But that can take all of 6 weeks or so. How do I deal w/ these freaks in the meantime? They are driving me INSANE!!!!!!!

why would I be driving them nuts???
I never even speak to them anymore.
I really am getting to the point where I just don't even like my parents anymore.
They are always throwing crap in my face that I've never even done.

Pretend you care but you know you don't inside. Wait till you leave home then you'll be able to do whatever you want. Going against them now might turn into something disasterous especially if you haven't made plans for college yet. Bite your tongue and ignore.

If they really love you, they should accept you for who and what you are. You can say this all you want, but it may not change their minds. It may take a few years of you living your life the way you want to and then showing them that you turned out just fine and still lead a good life in spite of the fact that you are going against everything they believe to be right. I know that really sucks, but what you need to do in the meantime is take the high road and show them with your actions that you can be a moral person and still not fit into the box they have drawn out for you. Since you're only 18 it's easy for them to say you don't know anything yet. But when you are 25 or so and have lead a good life you may be able to show them this fact and change their minds. Good luck. Just remember right now while you are living with them to never stoop to a low level and always try to bring light to the good things you do in your life.

You have some people that is over zealous, You say they are driving you nuts, Have you stop to think you could be also driving them nuts. Let me also say this, I presume you are in you teens, Your thinking right now is that of a teen, Hey I was a teen one time & my kids was teens at one time & now my grandkids is teens. If you don't want to listern to your parents, not necessary about religion but about everyday things, You need to understand that is their house, when you get older you will one day look back on your teen life & see why you done some things, because your kids will grow up into a teen one day. I am not a very young person, I have been serving God for over 36 yrs, & I am 57yrs old, Yes I have learned a lot since I was a teen.

Go to the christian college, but go with an open mind. It's funny. The more I learn about the bible and christianity and history, the less I believe in God. Just because you don't believe as they do gives you an amazing amount of power of debate. This will actually aid you in your studies.

Think about it. If you get an F on a paper where you state that Noah's ark could not have been structually sound if it really was that big and only made out of wood. You could take them to court to get your grade changed!!!

I too had a 'Christian' upbringing forced on me.

Try having a fight with the principal's son and getting hammered on a Christian holiday.

Worked for me.

Tell them your beliefs, they may disown you as a daughter, but you'll feel better.
