I asked a question about my head scarf and a person answered it by saying that i am free in america and that i should take it off. I also came across a magazine article saying how muslim women are oppressed because they dress mosdestly. I never thought of myself that way. How am I? I chose to do it when i thought i was ready. I love it so much. I wear long loose modest clothes like jeans or long cotton peasant skirts, long tunics and a scarf on my head. Do people honestly look at me and think, "omg I need to liberate her, shes so oppressed. Im gonna to buy her some tight booty shorts and a tube top so she can feel equal and free."? It isn't supposed to be forced but in some muslim countries it is therefore some muslim women look upon it negatively. A person also said that i was brainwashed. I was born and raised in the US, I chose to do it myself because i believe in it. If you do think i am oppressed, do you truly believe that taking off my beloved scarf will set me free
