I wouldn't rate it as a sin, but it is not God's way.
God decreed that we have come from dust and to dust we shall return.
When Abraham the father of faith came to dispose of his loved ones he chose burial
When God disposed of the body of Moses He buried it
When God's Son died He was buried
Burial is a symbol that there is a ressurection to come
The Bible position is burial for the dead
When in the Old Testament cremation was done it was done for criminals so that there would not be a memorial left on the earth so that they would be forgotten.

I don't think so. In fact I think everyone should be creamated so we can build something like homeless shelters or Food Banks. Instead or wasting space on rotting carcasses.

hope not because then everyone that was sacrificed and all of the people cremated after wars and pledges and things would be sinners too. Your body is a shell. if your Christian then you believe that your soul is in heaven when you die. how does a body with no soul sin. You could donate your body as a donor to save the lives of others and they cremate the dead body's to stop the spread of disease. would that person then all of a sudden become a sinner because he decided to help his brothers/sisters and they burned his body? I'm not a Christian but i can't see how that would be right.

Sin is disobedience.
When we sin, we are disobeying Gods word.
Cremation is not spoken of as being wrong.
Many who believe in God and his word have been cremated, either by request before they pass, or by means beyond human control as those who burned in the twin towers.
There are many different ways of burial written about in the bible, and none of them were counted as wrongful, they are all presented as the way that the culture dealt with human remains at any given time in history.

No. You no longer have a use for the earthly body so why would it be a sin? The Bible says that we all turn back to dust after death anyway. The way I see it those of us who chose to be cremated are just doing it quicker.

No, or several Christian saints 'sinned' by being burned at the stake. What is done to the body after death does not effect the soul. I myself have asked to be cremated and my ashes spread on the ground. I'm uneasy with tight places.

No although the Catholic Church does not want people to spread their ashes all over --they must be buried in a Holy place. It used to be that people would be cremated in defiance of the Church's statement of the Resurrection of the Body but, now as long as that is what is most financially feasible that is fine.

No, there is nothing in the Word of God about cremation being a sin. Once you die, you are no longer part of your body.

many Christians do not wish to be cremated for the fact when it is time for use to be "raptured" the dead in Christ shall rise... meaning that the bodies in the graves will rise out and meet those alive in christ in the clouds, our bodies will be transformed and become knew and although we will look different, we will still recognize eachother. it is not a good idea to burnour bodies up since it is God's creation. It is His choice to do with our bodies as He sees fit.

Why would it be? You are done with your body here on earth.
There is nothing in the Holy Bible on cremation or being cremated.
Therefore, if God didn't have it written; it must not be "important" to Him.
