but most especially wrestling which I think is one of the stupidest sports ever - but I don't go to the sports section and make fun of all those that do like it.
Regardless of how you see Atheism as a religion or lack of one, I have yet to understand why they think they need to jump in and make fun of Christians and everthing we believe?

I dont even know how they can consider wrestling a sport (WWF style anyway).
They want to provoke us to see if we will go against our beliefs, then say, see Christians are hypocrites. It a game.

First of all, this is a section of a Q&A site. It is ABOUT religions, it is not FOR the religious. Get over it. Find a Christian forum if that's what you are looking for.

Second, Christians are commanded to "go into all the world" are they not? Yeah, well if you don't wanna answer questions and address concerns, then I think you might be sinning. Oopsies!

Third, not all atheists and agnostics make fun. Occasionally, I do... if the level of ignorance in the question/comment warrants it. Just as many theists (especially Christians, who are the majority here and everywhere else I go it seems) ridicule atheists.

"I hate all sports?

but most especially wrestling which I think is one of the stupidest sports ever - but I don't go to the sports section and make fun of all those that do like it."

Go ahead, I wont stop you. More importantly, don't you feel sorry for the people who think wrestling is real when it's so obviously fake? Don't you want them to wake up and realize that it's all made up? Well... guess what?

THIS IS NOT THE CHRISTIAN SECTION
If you go into the wrestling section to complain about wrestling, it's not comparable because, as much as you want it to be, this is not the Christian section.

Just to let you know, many Atheists and people of other beliefs (you forgot to mention ALL other religions in your rant) are interested in religion and god/s. Most of them question their beliefs and look for new perspectives on things.

"I have yet to understand why they think they need to jump in and make fun of Christians and everthing we believe?"

I have yet to understand why Christians think it's okay to pretend they are the only religion that matters.

Both groups tend to be somewhat argumentative and combative toward each other.

I think there is little understanding between the groups.

Most christians(I am a christian) dont seem to know very well what they believe. And they tend to not be very christlike. From a logical perspective this causes a situation where they are very easy to make fun of.

Leviticus 18:22 states homosexual activities are an abomination
Leviticus 11:9-12 states that the eating of shrimp is an abomination

Christians protest gay marraige

Why don't I see Christians protesting Long John Silver's and Red Lobster.

Is it about God, or about homophobia.

I mock the hypocritical stance of someone who protests gay marriage. I come here to yahoo answers to mock that mentality.

I'm only mocking probably half of the Christians who use yahoo answers.

Mostly I see a lot of good hearted people who I network with.

To the others who tell me Matthew 15:22, I weep.

Why do Christians think it is ok to jump in and make fun of everything Pagans believe?
Regardless of how you see Paganism as a religion or lack of one, I have yet to understand why they think they need to jump in and make fun of Pagans and everything we believe?
See, it works that way too.
Try asking or answering an honest Q on Paganism without the first 4 answers being from Christians spouting about the evil of paganism.
Peace

You say that as though this is a Christian section of Yahoo. It isn't.

Not everyone agrees with you. Learn to live with it.

If you don't like the reaction to Christianity here, your best bet is to work to get the Christians to start acting like adults. That's the source of your problems. Notice that atheists don't jump all over Buddhists. Ask yourself why we don't.

I guarantee that you will never, *ever* see an atheist pop up out of the blue on a discussion group about (say) trainspotting or crochet or naturism, and announce that there are no gods. We see the religious preaching their views all the time, in all sorts of inappropriate places, unwanted and uninvited. Christians and Muslims are particularly guilty of this. Atheists simply never do it. Of course we discuss religion on religious discussion groups, because that's what discussion groups are for, and we respond when the religious start up with their unsolicited nonsense in other places, but that is all.

If wrestling fans tried to have every other sport shut down, or change the rules to mirror wrestling rules, I'd point out how arrogant and unfair they're being, too. I have no problem with anyone, religious or otherwise, who doesn't try to force their views on me and everyone else. I like freedom of choice.

Contradicting someone is not the same as making fun of them.

Holding beliefs different from you is not an act that demeans your beliefs.

Suck it up. This isn't your forum, it's a general forum for all religion-related discussion. Everyone gets insulted equally.
