Is this one reason why the Bible was written? John 20:31, "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name."

If we are only on this earth for approx. 70 years why are some people not concerned, or make light of where they will be for eternity? You may say I don't believe, but you have chosen to put yourself in a place of torment for eternity. why? God is love and He is giving you every chance to receive Him why wouldn't you. Some day when you stand before the seat of judgement your theories are not going to get you to a place of peace. Which leads to my question you would have every thing to gain and nothing to loose. Personally, I rather believe then take my chances.

He was a direct decendent from King David. That makes him a king. But the true heir to the thrown could not be revealed to Israel for generations because of the enslavement of the people of Israel. If the true heir to the thrown of the King of Israel would have made himself known to be the heir to the thrown, they would be killed by the one who was an unrightful ruler over Israel. That's why King Herod wanted Jesus killed because he had heard that Israel had a king, and that made Herod feel threatened because he knew that he was not a true king.

ok so. a few weeks ago, my dog kept staring at my window, and he would growl and bark for about an hour. And then tonight, i have these paper mache horses on my dresser, and they randomly fell, right where i was standing, if i didnt move, they would've hit me. and then about an hour after that, my dog is barking and growling at my dresser and kept staring at it, just like he did with he windows. i thought it might be fairies, but why would fairies try to hurt me, and plus, i know when fairies are around, i don't get scared when they are, but whatever this is is scaring me. if anyone has any idea of what might be bothering me and how i could get rid of it, please let me know. thanks.

I have a friend, more of an ex-gf, who has become involved with someone who is involved in drugs and already has a court date pending. I'm concerned for my friend's safety and future if her involvement becomes more and more profound(right word?). Does anyone know of a Bible verse that could help her?

You know what, I like Don and so do some of the other regulars on this section of Yahoo!Answers. To take someone's picture and then post the questions they do, says a LOT about their own lack of maturity.

So, why do people pick on Don?

I have been reading through many answers here and noticed there are many references to Satan.
If there is a belief that Satan exists as the enemy of Christians, wouldn't that mean Christianity is polytheistic?
I am curious as to your thoughts on this. Please serious answers only.

If Christ did not say it Christians are making up their own moral rules and forcing them on everyone. Christ was anti religious, stayed pissed at the priests for these very reasons, Am I exaggerating?

When a person ask a question about homosexuality being condemed in the Bible, and the question is answered honestly with verses from the Bible. Why the thumbs down, are they/you afraid of the truth?

No, I'm not a homophobe and don't resort to liberal name calling when you can't win a argument or point.

If you are not a Christian how do you see the world? There is currently more destructive power in the hands dictactors, countries are at war with themselves and each other. Disease and pestilance are rampamt in many parts of the world. In England, the muslim population will soon outpace the Christian population. In our own country, we are completely divided. Things that were once illegal are now praised as normal. Illegal immigration is dividing our nation. More and more 3rd world nations will soon possess nuclear bombs. There is no end in sight. The world as we have known it for some time will soon end. If I were not a Christian, I would seriously consider killing myslef, who would want to live when there is no hope? Jesus said something to the effect: don't worry when these things happen, they must happen before My return, so that gives me hope.

My question is serious... if you are not a Christian, how can you possibly explain and or cope with our current state of affairs?
