Hello everyone, I am new here so please let me know if I haven't got the hang of this! My name is John, I am from the UK.

I would be grateful if anyone with a religious inclination of any type would please tell me where, in a spiritual sense, my father stands. He is in his late fifties and is very ill, he has been told that he would be lucky to see the end of next month. He is a peaceful, gentle man who always tried to be very close to God, even though he is very simple he tried to understand God as best he could although he never revealed his exact beliefs to me. I know he has read the bible, Qu'ran and torah and I think he believes the word of all three books- he tried to believe in God, and not man's interpretation of religion.

Now he is dying and grows increasingly frail every day. He is happy and is always smiling (even though it hurts to breathe and move) because he is finally going to see what lies beyond. He remembers the old days sometimes...

Every group of people has some bad apples. I realise that.

Let's take for example Christians. Not to offend, just to take a group as an example. When a Christian says something bad on this board, I see lots of other Christian defending that with saying "he's not a true Christian". When a Muslim says something bad, I see lots of Christians seeing that as 'another sign all Muslims are bad people".
(I know i'm over-generalizing here, it's just to make a point)

I'm aware of the fact that I do this too. When I see an atheist make a bad statement, I feel he/she gives my group a bad name. But I still consider 'my group' to be good.

I'm curious if for you it works the same and if you ever even thought about how weird this actually is. Do we need bad apples from other groups to confirm our own prejudice?

Hello, Stranded in Denver with a truck load of tools heading to Virginia. Vehicle broke down. Need to have transportation to East Coast for self, one other person, and tools. We are non profit and could give a tax receipt for a donated vehicle. Other possibilites, like a ride share situation would help. Do you have resources here, or know of any? 540-335-1806 Rev. If heaven is so great, than why are we on earth any way? Why can't everything be perfect all the time? Is it really all because god and satan had a fight and were just traped between good and evil? Why couldn't god and satan just be friends and get along and everyone be happy? If were all gods children than is god a mean monster that throws children into a pit of fire? Whats really going on?

I would think that they would prefer to live under their own law, but I see some that posted on my other question prefer the life and culture of the USA over a Islamic country.
Which do you prefer as a Muslim?? Democracy or Sharia law?

Muslims cannot expel US forces from Afghanistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, UAE, Kuwait, or anywhere else US forces are protecting ExxonMobil's investments.

Given the fact they can't protect their own territory, exactly how are they going to "take over the world"?

Or, is that just propaganda being repeated by mindless parrots?

Causality states that there is a cause for every effect. God-given freewill states that we should rise above cause and choose the effect ourselves.

But if we are not loved, we hate. If we are not wise, we do foolish things. If we do not steal, we starve. How can God expect us to rise above circumstances of which are beyond our control? I do not control how much I am loved, how much I am taught, how much I eat. The love I've felt was denied to others. The knowledge I've learned was denied to others. The land I live in was stolen by my ancestors.

The Sumerian/Hebrew daemoness, Lilith has a captivating mythos surrounding her. Most agree that she was cast out of the garden of eden for standing up to Adam, and perhaps even for fighting him off when he tried to rape her, and this makes me think she got royally screwed. It is easy for this look at her beginnings to see her as an antiheroic, victim gone mad, who made the best she could out of really bad circumstances. However if you look at what she became, it's hardly anything to be proud of. She wandered the Earth in the guise of a whore, seducing any male creature she could, dropping litters of children in every corner of the globe with no intention or desire of caring for them in any way. She became the most powerful daemon in the world, but all she cared to use that power for was to feed her hungry crotch. Is this a goddess? Or someone we're better off forgetting?
