John I am so sad to hear that your Dad is dying.
I am a christian and so I am biased. Your Dad has the choice, as an adult, which religion he wishes to follow. He maybe still undecided! He may have been following God in his heart for years and is keeping it to himself!
Maybe you should think about asking your Dad how he feels about God and what he believes. It may give you comfort when he has gone to know how he feels.
Its very simple to become a Christian if this is what he chooses to do. You accept Christ as your Lord and saviour and give your life to him in a simple prayer. You can make it up and say it in your head if you choose. You need to say and mean that you are truly sorry for all the bad things you have done in your life. Then you may need to find a priest, vicar, paster or minister to help you through this sad time. It does not matter which you choose as long as it feels right to you.
It does not matter to God if a sinner turns to him at the very last moment of his/her life. He welcomes the worst of sinners with open arms and joy! There is NO unforgivable sin!
I will pray for you both John
God bless you both

Blessings dearest John.
Please dont worry.
Just keep loving and being with your dad.
Try not to worry about the religious side of things so much.
He will be met by all his loving relatives and taken into the healing white light.
Then he will experience a joy and intense loving energy never felt before.
I assure you he is not going to hell but to a place of love and peace, with no more pain.
Just dont let him see how sad you are but let him feel your love.
When he has crossed,if you give him a bit of time and you are not afraid,he will visit you in dreams and also around your home by moving things or something that you will know him by.
i.e. Scents, aromas or making something happen.
Only if you want him to.
In the meantime,love love love.
Remember he will have so many people waiting for him including angels.
Most people cant handle such intense energy of Jesus or Buddha but if he can, then they will greet him also.
He will always be with you,in your heart,in your memories and in spirit.
Love and light.
Gd bless you and your wonderful dad xx

Your dad sounds like a great man.
I can't really give you an opinion because that would do you no good. Here is what the word of God, the Bible, says.
John 14:6 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
As long as your dad has accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior he will be with God. I have read many "holy" books including the Bible. Even though I found wisdom in those books I still needed to be saved by the grace of God, Jesus Christ. My actions alone will not make me acceptable to God.
Eph. 2:8-9, "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not by works, lest any man should boast."
Here are some of the most encouraging words I eve heard in my life.
Revelation 3:20-21 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
I will pray for you and your dad.

Remember my friend, that the Lord Most High loves your father more than even his own mother loved him, let alone his children or spouse or others. The Lord Most High will certainly deal mercifully with him, and we can hope and pray that your father has not committed any serious crimes (murder, rape, abortions or any other activity that denies others life), which he does not seem to have committed, as such people can not be peaceful in their lives.
Trust in the MOST HIGH and his mercy. He made each one of us. Do not expect the Lord to deal with us with less mercy, when he asks us to be merciful to each other.
Also remember that the HOLY ONE Not only knows your father, but all his generations beyond the time human beings kept history He knows all the situations that ultimately lead to the birth of your father and now his death.
So, do not lose hope and look up to the MOST HIGH, who shall not deal with ANYONE in ANY INJUSTICE. I firmly believe in a Lord who is quick with Mercy and deals with justice only when there is no other avenue but to be JUST.
Justice only means we deserve what we get. But his Mercy is much more forthcoming than his Justice if someone asks for it.
YOU ask for mercy on behalf of your father, if you feel he has any danger of being punished. The chances are your father is already close to the Lord, thus he continues to smile, as he sees death as a meeting with an Ancient Friend!!
May the Lord guide me if I have spoken wrongly and may he keep me firm if I am right.
I hope this answers your question brother!!

John, I'm so sorry to hear the news about your father. Only Jesus will judge us, so I can't give you an opinion on your father's salvation. I can tell you this, that God is merciful, and loves us with a love that surpasses human understanding. He sent His only Son to die in our place, for our sins. You have described your father as a gentle and peaceful man who always tried to be very close to God. I can only hope that when it is my turn, that the same could be said about me. I have prayed for your father and you, that Jesus would surround you with His love, that he would carry you on the days when you feel like you just can't manage alone. God bless you and keep you.

it sounds to me he has accepted god into his life. I dont know your dad but if he has done no wrong i mean real wrong crime etc. Then God will know him and protect him and will have a job for him when he gets there. As he will be doing gods work we he is there. My wife died of cancer last year (33) left daughter 6. My wife was not at one with the lord. She didnt believe in god she blamed him for her cancer. although we was seperated and had been for 2yrs (daughter lives with me) i tried to get her to believe in god. Each day i try to come to terms with the fact that she never did. she didnt want to die and just had no believe in god. It breaks my heart. But as it says in the bible all those that accept me will goto heaven. She didnt and that really does tear me up. Your dad will be ok. But you on the other hand may not be. I hope u have the love and support you need. My name is john too, great name aye!, im from england, born in london. now living in scotland with my american fiance and daughter. Life is good, but a day doesnt go by that i dont think about my wife.

Your Dad is correct in believing all three books. All three were delivered by messengers from God.
At the time of Moses the torah was revealed, at the time of Jesus the bible was revealed and at the time of mohammed the Quran was revealed.
All the books are from the same one God and contain the same rules.
As society advanced so did the need for guidance. Each book was a continuation of the previous book with additional guideness for mankind. The Quran was the final revelation.
If your Dad believes in the words of the Quran then i beg of you to ask him to repeat these words.......... ash-hadu alla-ilaha ilallahu
wa ash-hadu anna muhammadan abdu-hoo wa rasooluh
which means i testify that there is none worthy of worship but allah (arabic name for God) and i testfy muhammed is his messenger
If these words are said with belief then the person who said them will enter paradise/ heaven.
if you have any queries or need any further info or literature on the above then feel free to email at designerwear@hotmail.co.uk
ps i have a good cd which i can post for your father and you if you are interested

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. In John chapter 3 v 3
Jesus said: "I assure you, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God."
verse 6 says.
Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives new life from Heaven.
To be born again is to
ask God forgiveness of all your wrong doing, which is called 'sin'. In a hearfelt way, thank Jesus for dying on the cross, taking the punishment which you and I deserved. Then REPENT, which means to turn away from sin, and seeking to commit your life to the Lord, pleasing Him, and not our own self interest.
If you would like to know more,
to to http://groups.yahoo.com/seeking_reality
or your welcome to contact me direct.
I want to help you, to help your dad.
God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Jesus said: I am the way, the TRUTH and the life, no one comes to the Father, but through me.
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3 v 16
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved.
It is by grace we are saved, through faith, not of works lest any man should boast.
Give your dad these scriptures from the Bible.

Yes he'll be fine, he will be reborn into the family of Christ. You don't need religion but you must have a relationship, an experiance of Christ. And don't you worry because he will watch over you and guide you. This is what he would wish you to know;
So Be It
When I am dead
Cry for me a little
Think of me some times
But not too much.
Think of me now and again
As I was in life
I now remain
At some moments it's pleasant to recall
But not for long!
Leave me in peace in God's sweet arms
And while you live
My peace, I give you
And I shall leave you in peace
As I was in life
I will always remain
And also this;
I Am With You Always
In the springtime of your life, when joy is new,
and when the summer brings the fullness
of your faith, I am there with you.
I am with you in the autumn
of your years turned to gold
every memory of your yesterdays,
to banish winter's cold.
I am with you in the sunshine,
when your world glows warm and bright,
I am with you when life's shadows
bring long hours of endless night.
I am with you every moment,
every hour of every day.
Go in peace upon life's journey,
for I am with you all the way
Remember that Christ died on the cross to attone for our sins that we may be admiited to heaven unblemished.
Take heart my friend.

Dear John,
I am so sorry for the pain you are experiencing. Do not worry for your father. He already is in the protetive arms of God, that is why he can smile now. To reassure you. He followed his conscience and to have such a caring son he must be a lovely man. He searched for God and I believe he has found Him. I will pray for you and certainly for your father in an ongoing way. You have no need to fear...you are not alone.XX
