because it's the easiest choice. No matter what your place in society today is everybody wants you to believe in god--they don't want you to actually learn anything about him besides that he lives in the sky and will take you to heaven no matter what you do. People love the fact that he forgives them of everything from lying and stealing to rape --God forgives me--I don't have to care about you! Learning takes effort and time--how much time does it take to get into the whole god thing? I just beamed down from the mothership--been on this planet four minutes, and eight people have asked me if I know about jesus christ--how could I not?

Primarily, science does NOT point towards religion. The old chestnut of "Who triggered the big bang" is just a desparate attempt to insist that a "person" did so. so far, science doesn't know how the big bang happened, but it's just a matter of time until they find out. Ususlly, faiths deny the validity of the scientific facts for some considerable time until to continue would prove them to be fools. After all, who today believes that the world is flat? It took the "religious" some 200 years to finally agree that the faith viewpoint was wrong and the scientists were right. It'll happen again and again until there's nothing left for the poor weak-minded fools to "believe in".
You should either KNOW or DOUBT. Never believe, unless there's reason to, in whioch case, it's knowledge, not belief.

Scientific evidence of what? So you must the all knowing, all seeing, all powerful human that has all the answers. Even science teachers can not agree on what they think they know.
So the earth is either a few thousand years old or 5 billion years old. We either had a big bang or we were banged biggly. There is/was life on Mars at one time or there wasn't. Do any of these things really matter? And do you or anyone else actually believe that a creature as complex as humans could simply evolve? So we started out as bottom feeding crap and now we are the greatest, most powerful, most intelligent being there ever was?
And still there are bottom feeding crap, go figure.

because the religion does work. It is a valid way to structure one's life. Even if it is "fiction" it serves as working paradigm for life. It's kind of like how we talk about the sun rising and setting, or how we talk about the moon being "up" and so on. This is not literally the way things really are. But it is a way to view it which "works" for our purposes. It's how is SEEMS and even if it's not literally true, people still know what we mean when we say those things.

Maybe that's a bad example, but my point is, the Christian story has many metaphorical truths. It may not be literally true, but it does convey truth just the same. Just like Aesop's Fables.

If someone chose to believe that there really was an actual race between a Tortoise and a Hare, where the tortoise won because the hare slept, they would be believing in falsehood. But that person still gains from the story, as much as the one who understands that the story is really a metaphor. The story serves to teach a moral.

There is no such thing as scientific evidence concerning God, either pro or con, because God exists entirely outside the purview of science. Science by definition is the study of the natural universe. God, as a supernatural entity, lies outside the natural universe, and therefore outside the realm of science. Likewise for angels, spirits, the soul, grace, and other supernatural entities.

Proving whether something is true or not is called apologetics. if the Bible is not true or if it is filled with errors, Christianity would only be a “blind faith”—something people believe without any evidence to support it. Christianity is not a blind faith. It is the only religion that can prove itself, and a main source of that proof is the Bible. There is a great deal of scientific evidence that supports the Bible. here is a link if you would like to see.http://www.clarifyingchristianity.com/science.shtml

With all the Biblical prophecies that have come true, how can you continue to believe there is no God? Where is your so-called "scientific proof?" Jesus said, "Blessed are those who have not seen, yet they believe." Faith is believing in those things that are not seen. I pray you come to realize that before it's too late for your immortal soul.

What evidence do you mean? I know of hundreds of people in y church alone that know absolutely that God exists and there is nothing science can offer that will prove otherwise. I believe in God because He is real, because He has done so much for my life. I am a totally different person now than I was before I was a Christian. God exists. He answers prayer. He inspires, guides, protects, provides. That is all the proof I need.

This is an inaccurate, biased and uneducated statement. It is not a question. There are thousands of PhD scientists who are born again believers. Many of them believe BECAUSE of science, in other words, their research led them to God. You should consider weighing the scientific evidence for yourself. It takes more faith to be an atheist than it does to be a believer.
