Mythology and Folklore are widely accepted to be allegorical. Religion and Spirituality are widely accepted to be factual. You don't have temples to goblins and elves, do you?

i think it's because mythology and folklore also have to do with different nationalities (local), and religion and spirituality have a broader scale. but i might be reaching here.

What a great idea this is,i agree that it should be because that's all it is,a myth or some old folklore, thanks for your very worthwhile question

i feel its more insulting that mythology and folklore isn't under religion and spirituality, not vice versa. apparently yahoo likes to judge which beliefs are more valid.

Very good question, as essentially they - as belief sytems - are one and the same. Whether I believe in a "God" or believe in a little goblin that runs around woods has no marked difference.

this question is asked way too much> probably because religion is not in the category of myth. and folklore>

they are different things, religion is the way you live, mythology is a study of it. Fokelore is cultural stories and spirituallity is a more personal thing.
Hope this explains everything.
