I received an email from a friend today and my friend was always under the impression that evolution says we evolved from monkeys/apes. I corrected her by telling her it says we have a common ancestor. What is the cause of this massive lack of information about basic evolution?

I honestly dont think the greed of an american will allow him to make a righteous decision. Even a decision where his soul is concerned. I believe most americans will deny the existence of GOD or tell their self GOD will overlook their sin. When this day comes americans will probably be fighting to get in front of the line to get the mark of satan in their palms and foreheads.

Why don't people know that 'god' was added to the pledge during the 1950s when christian fundamentalists leveraged the climate of fear (fear of russia and then linking this fear to the perils of godless communism) to get it added? Why don't people know a similar set of events occurred to get it added to money? Why???

Most of my coworkers are fanatical Christians. They post scriptures all over the work area and play gospel CDs. I feel like being a rebel and playing my Korn CD one day!!!

He said he always found me attractive, and he went into graphic details about what he wanted to do with my puppet body. What could this dream mean? Is it some spiritual sign?

Was he the voice that cried out in the desert that should have been the Israelites when they were there, saying make straight the way of the Lord?

I think televangelists are worse, personally. Face it, both ask you for money. At least PBS gives you some entertaining shows in exchange. Televangelists just squander their wealth on hookers and cheap booze. Take that money from the Televangelists and help keep Sesame Street on the air!

For example, most people in the world wear jeans & you don't. Peer pressure from others or even the bandwaggoning of the media.

I am not religious, but I don't think much of any religion, but at least I respect people and don't try to steal from them and abuse them. I'm talking about the real world here, not virtual yahoo answers land.

I'm not a Muslim, I just want to understand this beleif better. I know the things that I have seen committed in the name of Islam, and read about, and watched, and experienced...but, just to be fair, will listening and following along help me to understand this beleif better? Or, a waste of $20? Any other suggestions? I'm honestly trying to see the peace they speak so feverently of and keep an open mind.

Do you remember the exact moment, thought, or revelation that made you change?

I'll put mine here, but don't let it bias the question please.
I was reading a book about how the military trains people to remote view(similar to psychic viewing) and wanted to learn it. The thing was is that they said in order to do it, you must clear your mind completely of thought and enter a Zen like state.

So I sat on my bad thibnking that if I wanted to learn this, I have to unlearn my previous convictions and beliefs. A big moment in my life.
Since then, I am very passionate about learning all religions, beliefs, and most importantly science, because there is so much to offer and ways to connect to all peoples of this planet.

You?
