I am a muslim and this morning I was talking to my dad about sharia law, my dad thinks the sharia law could do with some modernizing nothing major but the scholars could get together read throught the hadith and quran and change minor things such as the stoneing penalties forgiveness is mentioned much more times in the quran than punishment, what do u think?

Jesus did, and he wants you to do the same:

"sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven" (Mat 19: 21)

"sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven" (Mar 10: 21)

"sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven" (Luk 18: 22)

as Jesus had said in the book of Acts, then why did he died? Is that the reason why so many Muslims are so irrational and acting comfortless.

As in, I know a parent who, to put it in terms the (then 4yo) kid could understand, taught him that there 'was a superhero up in the sky that takes care of us' without ever using the name 'God'. (In fact the first time the kid heard that name was from a schoolmate over a year later.) Now, I'm not particularly religious and haven't even told my own 4yo yet that there is a God. So I'm not downing the guy myself. I'm just curious if those more religious than myself find it to be 'wrong."

I was happily walking down the street today until four american men from the church of jesus christ aggresivly stopped me. They feel they are superiour and have the right to ask me personal questions about my family and beliefs.

I told them I believed in evolution and they laughed! I would never laugh at a christian's belief, never mind somebody I stopped in the street. Then they asked me if I will give my child the option to find the "light" for themselves and not impose my beliefs on them. Utterly shocked, I told them I was gay and won't be having children. They then told me I will be sentenced to an eternity in hell unless I undergo redemption! I lost the plot completly at this point...

Why do they feel they have the right to do this? I don't preach dawkins on the street and if I stopped them in that manner I feel they wouldn't be quite happy.

Please note, I'm not saying all christians are like this; my gran is a christian and she's always been great.

the hospital chaplain performed a naming ceremony. All of this happened when I still believed in god. From what I have heard, my baby did not get to go to heaven, as he died before being baptised, is this true?
