No idea, Paul was an abusive man who demanded people choose his teachings over those of James, the brother of Jesus. Makes you kind of wonder!
EDIT Jesus did NOT choose Paul, they never met

Because Christ was dead and KNEW he would die, that's why he was called the Teacher. Because he knew after Pentecost in 33 A.D. they would then be dispersed throughout the world to spread the kingdom news and the good news of Jesus Christ. He didn't NEED Paul, but he did need followers. Paul was simply a wonderful man who did great works, the same as all the other apostles. Also, lets not forget, Christianity today would be a much sadder state if not for all the early christian women who contributed their lives and fortunes to it.

We don't "need" Paul. Paul's life was a testimony and witness to Christ. Paul's teachings are like Christ because Christ taught Paul truth. Paul then spread His word. And as far as "needing" We all need each other because where some of us are weak others are strong. Where Paul got something Peter missed it and vice versa. We are each a part of the body of Christ.

1 Corinthians 12-27

If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but "one body".

Because Jesus taught for only 3 1/2 years.Paul expanded on those teachings and was given inspiration by the Holy Spirit for around 35 more yrs.Remember in John 14 ,Jesus said I must go away ,if I don't the Holy Spirit can't come and teach you even more(paraphrase).Paul spent a lot of time in the Arabian desert just learning from God.

Because Christ ascended into heaven, leaving His teaching in the hands of the Church, specifically in the hands of capable men like Paul, Peter, Matthew, Luke, and John. Paul didn't preach Paul's message. He preached Christ's message, as did the others, and their successors in Christ's Church today.

Paul was the chosen vessel to bring the Gospel of Jesus to the Jew first, then to the Gentile world. It's kind of like if God calls the most influential Atheist, and he converts, wouldn't he be the best one to speak to the Atheists? Paul was the best spokesman for his people.

Please read your bible! Paul was an apostle chosen by Jesus. He wrote passionately about the gospel. His books and letters consist of most of our new testament books.

It's no wonder satan would try to confuse people or negate Paul's teachings, or try and set Jesus and Paul at odds. Interesting tactic, however.
