They feel passionately that everyone should follow the path to peace and eternal life as preached by our lord Jesus Christ but are too scared to preach to muslims so pick on apparently vulnerable folk from other christian churches like you.
I personally chat amicably to them explain I am a real Christian fundamentallist that the old testament is largely b******* and they really should go down the Mosk and sort them out, and they then start panicking and try to get away from me as quickly as possible. Works real well on Jehovahs witnesses too.

It's always a problem trying to get The Gospel out to people The problem is that spreading The Good News is vital for us Evangelicals but we always find it difficult to reach a balance, to get the message across without upsetting too many people. Some accost people in the street, some knock on doors, some announce it by shouting it out across the street. All these methods raise animosity, but they can also be effective. I have heard people say how greateful they were when they received the message at just the right time when someone came up to them or knocked on their door. This is, admittedly, fairly rare.
One method like is when my friends and I play worship songs at one of our shopping centres. People are free to avoid us. but some stop and listen. We have heard that people appreciate the music in that otherwise quiet area.
We have something called EDP, or Eat Drink Pray. We park a double decker bus in the West End and invite people to have something to eat and drink, and offer a non-judgemental listening ear for them to pour out their troubles. We have reached many people this way, many of these are still with our church.
As will see from my picture I wear a large red wooden cross. It is rare for me not to wear it. I also have an US military style track suit top with "Jesus Army" on the back and a "Jesus Army" football shirt. Of course, our most famous item is our "Jesus Army" camouflage jacket. All I need to do is walk around wearing these and, sometimes, people come up to me and ask me questions about it. That is how I like doing evangelism.

Because some so called christians are all mouth and talk the talk, but never walk the walk. Find you a good family based church and tell the busy bodies to leave you alone. Jane P. S. I have gay friends and relatives and God will do the judging not I. P.P.S. If you believe in evolution, whether it be a reptile or monkey or whatever, then don't you wonder how they got here. love jane

Sadly, it is a truth that the Church of the Latter day Saints, Jehovahs Witnesses, and other such groups feel the need to 'aggressivly witness' to others. As though they can argue anyone into the truth of God. And they become defence attorneys. Defending their beliefs and even becoming conveniently deaf to the rights and choice of others. Yet not all christains are like this. And not all in those groups are like it either. But they are taught that they are doing a 'good thing' by 'converting others'. And it is the same with all the man made religions. What they are doing is not biblical. Jesus never agressivly witnessed.
In fact he usually walked away and left the crowds come to him. The apostles didn't aggressivley witness. But you see, it is all these groups have. They don't have the power of God becuase they are convinced it is no longer available. And so sadly they miss out on the fact that the power of god is a witness in itself and it means you don't have to go out forcing your ideas down anyones throat. You merely show them the power of God by giving healing, or delivering them out of their worries and problems with the wisdom of god's word (most of the time I don't even have to qoute scripture to do this). And then they see it in action and they will either want it themselves, in which case you can teach and guide them into the understanding, or they will thank you and walk away. In which case you graciously shake hands and let them go.
The rewards of this approach? Everyone who gets healed or delivered in any way for God by anything I say and do is a blessing for me and God. We both get a kick out of it.
The people helped get to choose wether they want to know more and because they choose, they are not under any obligation. They can at any time choose to walk away and they know it. So they realise they are not being controlled by are only receiving answers to their own questions.
And those who walk away do so knowing they can get the same help again at any time. They are not obligated or imprisoned by it. The ycan take it or leave it. And they very quickly recommend it to others.
In this way the whole of Asia Minor turned to God in the first century under the guidance of the apostle paul.
This is the correct way to witness for God. By walking the walk and not just talking the talk.
And as for condemnation of gay's etc. What is the profit in that? If you cannot help someone overcome something that is wrong, or they choose to stick with it, then never conemn them. Because you make it harder for them to choose next time the opportunity comes up. And they might secretly be looking for a way out but be either to nervous or to confused to realise it yet.

I feel what you felt and apparently know how much damaged done to your gentle soul. They ought not to condemn your belief based on theirs. It's absolutely wrong. They will ever fail if come to you every-time unless they identify you have power over your decision. Anyway, what is my interest? May be you should think, there is a reason for everything and if they did succeed to tell you about Jesus Christ (excluding religion and issue of coming to their church),consider what they said and neglect how they said it.When their MSG end up being truth, you won't regret i urge you mate!

I, like you believe in individualism. It's really unfortunate that some "churches" have become enveloped in sectarianism so as to miss the meaning of life. I much prefer a study in metaphysical ways of life to all those "isms" called religions, worshiping their Gods on an alter and feeling higher and mightier than others. That is not in my book of life's lessons here on earth, thank you!
I totally agree with you.. the street is not the place to peddle such views.

Most of the Jehovah's Witnesses do that kind of stuff. I have been stopped and told them I was a believer and they argued that I would not go to heaven if I was not part of their church. I am not going to heaven anyway, I am going to the new earth that is part of the heavenly realm. Sorry that christians spoil such a great thing. Jesus loves you and wants the best for you. Search the right places and you will find your true happiness.

I figure that it makes people feel better to be better than everyone else. I am convinced if these evangelists actually succeeded in converting everyone to their religion, they would run out and start a new religion so that they could again evalgelise and feel superior to everyone not of their group. Unfortunately there will always be people in this world that have the need to not only feel superior to everyone else but to try to make sure that the people they meet know that they are superior. In those situations use your knowledge and your sense of humor. Mormons, when I am accosted on the street by them, I just ask them if they could come home and help convince my wife to let me have multiple wives. Mormon evangelists especially women mormon evangelists are usually ready to strangle me within minutes, and go away. ;-)

Got a little taste of Christian reality today, did we?
You ask "what right"?
A God-given right -- they think they are the only
ones who know the truth -- they can do anything
they want to anybody they want -- look what
Christian Germany did to the Jews. Look what
Christian Dutchmen did in South Africa. Look
what Christian slave-owners did to the USA.
How is Gran, by the way?

Mormons are really messed up they are like that with every one....including other Christians...ill pray for them...they need to know when to be a silent witness for Christ...and when to listen to the Holy Spirit...each person is to be reached where they are at...and in most cases scare tactics don't work...love and compassion do the best...meeting people where they are at and helping them joyfully....random acts of selfless kindness with a message....raskwams are my favourite way to share the love of Christ....blessings and prayers for you all in Jesus name....
